Ra. It is reasonable that the cause of whatever is the fruit of something is not realization. If it were not so, the bodily actions arising from the mind would become awareness. Therefore, it is reasonable that one's own nature is awareness. However, if it becomes an object of manifestation, it is awareness, but not self-awareness. If you say so, it is unreasonable. Because nature has become an object of manifestation, if it arises from its own cause, what makes it become awareness? What is the use of meaning here? However, it is from meaning, because it is an object of manifestation, that it is said that way. From the eye also becomes an object of manifestation, how is that not awareness? If you say that the sense faculty points to meaning, then what does "pointing to meaning" want to express? If meaning is awareness, then this will become awareness pointing to meaning. If one does not realize with the nature of meaning itself, then the manifestation of the object to it is not realization. If meaning itself knows, then what is the use of awareness manifesting as an object now? For those who abide near accomplishment, there is no need to approach it. If without it, the appearance of meaning will not be realized, then it is only becoming awareness together with it, and not anything else. Therefore, saying "it holds" is just a borrowed ornament. Furthermore, some say that happiness and so on are in external objects, are places and without mind, are held, and for it, it is unreasonable to hold both at the same time. Saying "definitely holding" is a redundant word. If it is an independent object like blue and so on, then there is no reason to say that it must be held together with blue and other things. However, these such as happiness and suffering are the complete transformations of the chief object with the nature of happiness and suffering, like this: The doctrine is that the great comes from the chief object, from the great comes ego, from ego comes the five tanmatras, the five intellectual faculties, the five action faculties, and the mind. From the five tanmatras come the five great elements, so all kinds of transformations are only these. Transformation is also in accordance with nature, for example, the transformation of clay is like a vase and so on. Here it is said, the nature of blue etc. happiness etc.

Ground, because of oneness. If it is said to hold simultaneously, how can that which is held by a mind with different appearances not be different? Happiness and so on are the nature of happiness and so on, the perfection of the principal, from where does this come? Because it is seen to follow its nature. If it is said that the aspect of grasping in this way is seen to follow it, is this not uncertain? Sound is produced from the combination of a large drum and a stick, but it does not follow the large drum and the stick. If it is also thought that wind or sound atoms become sound itself, even then, that is not established. Or, like the change of clay, is the cause of the same kind also examined here? If so, then how many fruits of its nature are there, all of which are produced from different kinds, such as sound and so on. Pots and so on are also fruits, and they are also produced from different kinds. Potters and so on are different kinds, therefore, there is no pervasion that everything is produced from the same, or because it is produced from different kinds, the opposite is established. A homogeneous cause that is not simultaneous is never seen. Or, if it is certain that everything is seen to follow happiness and so on, then the nature of happiness and so on itself will become the cause, just like the clay lump of the change of clay, this has already been said. Other co-occurrents are also the cause. Therefore, since both homogeneous and heterogeneous are the cause, the principal is not established. Furthermore, happiness and so on also follow what is held and so on, so another principal of what is held is established. Therefore, ultimately what is held itself and things themselves and so on will become the cause. Or, that is also the nature of happiness and so on, because following things themselves and so on is the nature of happiness and so on. If so, then since happiness and so on are the nature of pots and so on, the principal will become the nature of pots and so on. Or that is the nature of all
