It is merely to show. In order to remember as seen, even if one does not touch what is seen, one does not hold the subsequent nature related to what is seen. Therefore, recognizing that there is a generality in what is seen is not so. Then, how does one recognize that that cow is this cow? The explanation for this is: Although what is seen is different, through what is called "recognition," a single concept arises naturally, it has been said. The arising of seeing that relies on holding mutually different other things is not on the path of being able to hold a single form of different and non-different. However, since there is no other form, through one's own habituation and the awakening of the seeds of conforming action, the ability clearly increases, entering into it, thereby generating the realization of recognition. The realization of lineage, etc., that enters the path of meaninglessness is due to its power. Therefore, direct perception is an object that cannot be indicated, thus it abides. Mind is also objects and attachments, etc., self-awareness is non-conceptual. Mind is also direct perception because it recognizes the nature of objects and desires, etc., because it enters into the form of experience. Eye consciousness, etc., itself is considered to be the object of entering into the form of experience, and isn't what is generated by the eye, etc., itself a sense consciousness? Or, if what arises from it is mind, then at that time it will hold what was previously experienced. Therefore, if one holds what was previously experienced, the mind is not a valid cognition. If it is not the nature of recalling what was previously experienced, then it cannot be realized. If it is not to be recalled, but is direct perception, then how can it be said to have been previously experienced? If things are previously experienced, then how can they be realized? Recognition is excluded. If one holds what has not been seen, then if one holds what has not been seen, even the blind, etc., will be able to see things. The blind also have mind, therefore he and others will hold all things. Therefore, the deaf and the blind, etc., will disappear. Because it is only a moment, there is no seeing of past things.

If not, then the characteristic is, that which has distinctions becomes expressible. All things are destroyed in an instant, therefore, with what does one grasp the grasped, how does one grasp the past? If one accepts that it is not momentary, then, because of grasping what was seen before, like memory, grasping what has already been grasped is not valid. Even if the mind is what has already been grasped, if it is valid, then the characteristic of having distinctions is to be expressed. Furthermore, for the action of accomplishing deeds, without making any difference, how do those with faculties or others want to accomplish? If the sense consciousness has completely cut off its own nature, then what is there for others to do? If it cuts off its own nature, then what is the meaning of cutting off what has already been cut off? If one's own essence appears, then what fault is there in others? If that is the case, then for the permanent dharma, is not the cutting off itself always present? What will others do to it? If it is cut off by others now, then it is not, because it is permanent, so it is the same now, and others have no power either. Because there is no cutter of it, that statement is irrelevant, for if there is no cutter, then it will not be grasped as permanent. If it is grasped by others, then it is not, because there is no trust. How does another understand his own time and understand the permanent? Therefore, in order to abide by the cutter himself, the grasper is meaningless. Because it understands its own nature. The wisdom that arises from that thing, too, will all arise simultaneously. If it is not distinguished by others, then the dependence from there is contradictory. Grasping its aspect, all the wisdom that enters the permanent will arise at the same time. If the times are different, then it contradicts being the same object of the permanent, because the aspects are different. Or, at a later time, arising from another cause, at that time it is also necessary to grasp that time. If it is not so, then it is not permissible to grasp. Seeing truth in a dream, seeing truth in a dream is seeing that one grasps knowledge at that time. The mind arises from sense consciousness.
