If it is said to be appearance, then in that case, since it is the object of the cause itself, the eye and so on would become the object itself. Even if it becomes the object, what is the fault? If asked, then it would become a contradiction of oneness, because the eye is also an object. If it is the object itself, then the very sentence "Although the minds are one meaning" will be lost. If it is the object itself, then it is not the object of dependence itself. Therefore, the meaning of speech will become like this: Although the minds are one meaning, they change because of the variety of dependencies, which would be contradictory to each other. Therefore, appearance by its own nature is the object, there is no other aspect. If it is said that because sound is the basis, it is the answer, then from the sound of understanding, one understands the meaning by one's own nature. If it is said that this is not the object of understanding the meaning, because it has already been understood, then in that case, the meaning will not become the object either, because it has not been understood by its own nature. If it is said that because it is also obtained from that, it is the object, then that is not reasonable, what is the connection between that and obtaining from that? Since that is to be obtained by one's own nature, how can one say that it is obtained from another? If it is said that because one enters into that, then how is it that one enters into non-understanding itself, one should think about it. If it is said that one sees that one obtains that from that aspect, then one understands that from that aspect itself, therefore, in order to enter into that, it will become an attainment with subsequent inference, but not an attainment with sound. Therefore, it will become that it is only the object of subsequent inference, and not the object of sound. Therefore, the object of sense consciousness is the very nature that cannot be pointed out. If it is said that it becomes the object of inference, then it is not, because the nature of that does not appear even to inference. If it is said, then how does it abide in non-appearance? It has already been shown that everything enters into non-appearance itself. If one asks, is it the case that I understand that and enter into it? If it is true, then even so, this is not the ultimate meaning. Even if one does not understand, but presumes to understand and everything enters, this is the ultimate meaning. If one asks, where does one presume to appear, is that the object? The meaning of sense consciousness, the object of sound, the ultimate meaning is two.

Although it is conventional truth, there is no fault because it is not ultimate truth. If one acknowledges what is promised by others, then their wish is fulfilled. If one realizes it through one's own nature, then it becomes realized in the realm of ultimate truth. Therefore, even if there are various supports, if it is not realized through one's own nature, then it is not an object. If it is said that it is an object because some of its nature enters into it, then if in ultimate truth, its nature enters into the consciousness of sound, then others will also realize the grasping of the nature of clarity. Entering after is not the ability to realize in another way. If it is said that although the forms are different, from the perspective of "is," it is not contradictory to oneness, that is also not true, as follows: Without seeing and knowing, because speech and conceptual thought intervene. From seeing cows and so on, recognition is reversed. It has now been established that speech and conceptual thought do not understand the object of sight. If what is grasped is recognized, then sound and cognition are not grasping, so how can it become recognition? Then, how does one recognize "what I realized from this is that"? Even if one has not realized it, wouldn't one presumptuously think that one has realized it? Then, what harm does the eye do? If investigated, that is harm. Different cognitions are harmful, and that exists in sound and cognition, because they are objects to be remembered. Memory is what was previously grasped, and seeing is what is present. If sound and cognition are directly realized, then what is the use of seeing? This has already been explained. Therefore, taste is also just an arrogance of direct perception, not a realization of ultimate truth. After seeing, it is only the conceptual thought that follows the previous one, in order to establish the term of oneness, not the grasping of ultimate truth. When seeing cows and so on, classifications such as speech and conceptual thought follow, and then inference. This is also refuted by this. If speech and cognition do not touch the object, then following does not grasp any ultimate truth at all; this is just an arrogance of direct perception.
