It is so. Even familiarity can lead to seeing, It appears in an instant. Therein also, that distinction, Is considered to be made by memory itself. Thus, what appears to experience, Has no difference established in anything. If in memory, There is experience of something additional, Then that nature of multiplicity, Has no mutual distinction. By self or other, in that very thing, There is no power to distinguish. Unable to separate, Unable to see differently, Since acceptance and rejection have already been done, Even if different, what use is it? If realization by direct perception, And memory of simultaneous realization are also held together as one with it, wouldn't it follow that it is the same as direct perception? Therefore, if the meaning of the occasion is lost by saying that there is no direct perception, and one thinks that one should be timely, it is like falling into a mire. That is not so. Having begun to speak of difference, It is said that memory is something else. Everything is cause and essence, It is different by distinction. According to those who speak of difference, since the cause is different, the self's essence is different, everything is only different. Memory arises only from habit, but sense consciousness is not like that. Memory has a hidden object, but the consciousness arising from the senses is not, so these are different like pillars, etc., so those who speak of external objects understand it by their own acceptance. If one speaks of no difference, what distinction is there? Since having the nature of a cause is not consciousness, because direct perception does not grasp it. Inference is also direct perception, Without it, it will not arise. Direct perception does not grasp, The two things, before and after. At the time of grasping what is desired as the result, What appears as the cause is only memory. When does it only grasp its own nature, and not the result? Even at the time of grasping the result, it is also the object of memory only because it is past. What has not been experienced is not memory, and there is no experience of the cause itself, so how can it become memory? However, it is impossible to experience it even at the time of the result, so at the same time

If it is because it is the ground that it cannot be distinguished, and is therefore non-different, how could it become the substance of cause and effect? However, this is something that has been experienced elsewhere before, and is determined by memory. So, if it is different because it can be distinguished, then what does that memory trace and infer? Or is it just memory? If it is assumed to be tracing and inferring, how could there be no direct perception? Direct perception does not grasp what was earlier. All direct perception grasps what is present. So, is it that the direct perception grasps the definite time, which is not mixed with others, and that which is grasped is called 'previous' in relation to the later? That is not the case, because the previous depends on the other, and direct perception arises. Therefore, the definite is the previous, it does not grasp, because it abides in its own nature. How can the previous direct perception, which grasps its own nature in its own time, grasp the nature that depends on others? The later direct perception is the same. Therefore, this dependence on the previous and the later is not grasped by the direct perception of the previous and the later. So, how can memory arise for that? Therefore, dependence is not understood by direct perception and memory. Therefore, from what illogicality does inference arise? Or if it is just memory, that is not a valid cognition, so how can one know the result that depends on the previous and the later, and how can one understand from it? Or, by the power of the collection, knowing that it is this, thinking it is the same, and therefore distinguishing it, is that so? That is this, is also the two knowledges of the nature of memory and experience. So, by what will the same be grasped? If it is said that grasping is seen, seeing grasping is not, grasping is memory. So, how can the object of memory and the object of seeing, like cloth and a chariot, not be understood? If one distinguishes, one will understand it as such. The forms of memory and direct perception are not understood as the same, for if they were, they would not become those. If that is so, the previous and the later are the same.
