Ba and so on are the respective establishments of things. These things exist separately, and they depend on those separate things. That is false, and those separate things are also false. Because it makes things clear, it is called 'making clear.' Apart from the aspects of the grasped and the grasper, there is no other characteristic. Therefore, because the characteristic is empty, it is well explained as being without inherent existence. The characteristics of the aggregates and other distinctions, which perform all functions, that which has distinctions is not itself. Therefore, those are devoid of characteristics. These are the intermediate verses. How should it be explained that the Blessed One taught about external objects such as form, and other things besides that? Explanation: With the nature defiled by ignorance, relying on its own conditions as they are, the appearances of consciousness are not as they are, like the arising and changing of mountains and so on. By all that is not seen by others, that itself is not consciousness. If the falsity of the grasper and the grasped did not exist, then it would not exist because of that. Therefore, with the meaning of equanimity towards that itself, having made the very manner of looking at an elephant, with the single mind of the world, he engages in examining external objects. If, in ultimate truth, everything is emptiness and the Blessed One also sees it as such, then how did the Blessed One teach about external objects, since seeing it as such would not be teaching what is not suchness? If he teaches, how is he seeing it as such? If you fall into doubt, the answer to this is that the Blessed One did not teach about external objects in order to establish external objects. What is it then? It is in order to speak accordingly, because by speaking accordingly, he intends to speak of refuting the self. How then does it become speaking accordingly to the view of emptiness? Because that does not appear. It is not so, because it is possible to speak accordingly with the very nature of the mind of the world. Such a mind of the world also comes from being accustomed to ignorance from beginningless time. If the Blessed One possesses the mind of the world, how is he seeing things as they are? It is not so, because it is possible to teach by the force of previous actions, like turning a wheel. Therefore, in order to guide the world, the various teachings are not contradictory.

It is not. Thus, having temporarily accepted emptiness and abandoned uncertainty, now we accept diversity and abandon it. Although appearing as diverse, the mind transforms into one, because the diversity of external objects and their characteristics are different. The diversity that can be distinguished becomes many, but the blue color of the mind, etc., cannot be distinguished. For example: Blue and other diversities in perception, The difference in perception does not rely on others. When it cannot be seen, The distinction falls on things. Whatever is the blue color, etc., of the nature of distinct consciousness, is not able to be seen separately, because they cannot be distinguished, so even though the mind is diverse, it is one. If diversity is also one, then does the appearance of sounds, etc., also become one? If it cannot be distinguished, it will become one. However, even if the ears are blocked, one can still perceive forms, etc., so is it not one because it is grasped separately? That is not so, because at that time perception is not distinguishing, because it does not appear, so at that time there is no previous appearance. Even if it does not appear, but there is sound, is it not different? That is because at that time it is not perception, because it is hidden. Thus, distinction falls on things. Because things are not awareness. If the image of the previous perception that appears simultaneously is different from what appears separately now, can it be distinguished in this way? That is not so, because for the previous one, direct perception does not enter, however, how perception appears is how it is experienced. It will change like that, it will be experienced. Saying that is not there. Self-awareness's direct perception does not enter from the hidden, because the hidden is not self-awareness. If it can be known by memory? That is unreasonable, because memory is not valid cognition. If the memory that arises from experience is valid cognition? Memory arises from experience, for saying that is valid cognition, slightly.
