If it exists, how does it appear? If it appears, then how can it be said to be non-existent? It is because there is no function. The characteristic of existence is to be functional. Mere appearance does not become a reason for existence, for example, hair and the like appear, but are determined to be non-existent. What is meant by "function"? Is it different from the nature of appearance, or is it the same? If it is different from the nature of appearance, then, for that nature, if we still have to admit another function different from the nature of appearance, then it will be endless and incomprehensible. If it is the same as the nature of appearance, then it would lead to the conclusion that all appearances exist, and illusions and the like would not become non-existent. For this question, some statements are nominal, and some are through refutation. This which abides through distinction is the very nature of things. Merely appearing does not make everything functional. Whatever appears as functional, that is merely the nature of appearing as functional, and not non-existent. Because difference and non-difference are inherently abiding. If that is the case, then all appearances would not become non-existent, because some appearances are related to function. If you say so, that is not right, because it is refuting through the view admitted by others. To say existence is to admit existence through function. Therefore, function is different from appearance. Apart from the nature of blue and the like, there is no other functional appearance. If you say that whatever is considered a function by anything, then that thing itself is non-existent, only some things are slightly produced. If you say that the satisfaction of eliminating suffering is a function, that is not right, because suffering and satisfaction are both unstable, they are all produced by the power of habit. What is without habit is non-existent, this is the way of abiding of the ultimate truth. If that is really the case, then through the power of habit, knowledge itself has changed in that way, and it is not non-existent. What is produced by the power of ignorance is itself non-existent, because such a thing has no nature of abiding. Merely appearing, if not examined, will exist pleasantly, therefore this is the conventional truth. Therefore, meaning and knowledge

Pala. Those coarse appearances, whether they exist or not, are because they are limited to one, and they do not exist in many either. For the object of atoms or things with parts, there is no rational appearance, because the coarse itself is the different parts of the directions. The parts of the directions also exist because they are completely separated from each other, so they are not one. If it is said that the coarse appearance exists in many, such as when many similar things are seen to be offered by others, they are called coarse, but this is also unreasonable. Because they are only many, the coarse itself does not exist in each individual. If it becomes a collection, then the name of coarse depends on the collection different from those appearing as a single whole. Things that appear different from each other cannot appear as a single whole, because the middle also appears. If the middle does not appear, then they will not appear. If atoms gather, another thing with parts will be born from their combination, and there will be neither atoms nor parts in it. If you think so, then if another thing with parts is born, then like a sprout from a seed, the atom will perish, and another thing with parts will be born. Therefore, it cannot be said that the atoms, etc., that are combined and together, constitute the aggregate of parts by meeting with themselves, so they are the cause of aggregates such as threads, because the relationship itself exists on both. The thought of "it's here" will also become aimless, because there is no object of aim. Grasping the indivisible part will also grasp the other parts. Grasping the part on this side will also see the other side, because that is also the part with parts on the other side. Therefore, everything will see everything. If it is said that the part on the other side is not visible, because the part on the other side itself does not exist, then how others see it is others themselves. Then, this will no longer be a thing with parts or coarse. If it is said to be seen through categories, that is not correct, because it is impossible for one thing to have categories. It is impossible to recognize "that is this." Seeing and touching.
