If one desires to enter, then that entry is also established. The meaning and connection of all knowledge are not understood by direct perception. It is through general inference that the connection is determined. Since there is no other valid cognition, how can doubt be eliminated? Therefore, it is said that conventional terms themselves are valid cognition. If conventional terms are not valid cognition, then what is the meaning of the treatises on the definition of valid cognition? Even if the treatises are expounded, they are only words and will not become so. However, it is because of the non-deceptive nature of conventional terms. If that is the case, then the treatises are meaningless, the answer is: the treatises are to dispel ignorance. If the nature of valid cognition can be understood from conventional terms, why do the treatises on definitions contradict each other? Therefore, those who use conventional terms only misunderstand the conventional terms themselves. Like this, not all valid cognition can be understood from conventional terms. Therefore, the definitions of valid cognition are contradictory to each other. Direct perception and other valid cognitions do not understand other worlds. Others insist that it comes from the scriptures, therefore it is not from conventional terms. Therefore, in order to understand the certainty of conventional terms, the treatises are to dispel ignorance. For those who do not remember the past and the future, this treatise can dispel ignorance. Similarly, the treatises spoken by the omniscient one can dispel ignorance, but others cannot. In this way, because the words of the omniscient one are themselves valid cognition, it is said that the omniscient one himself is valid cognition, but others are not, this is the ultimate meaning. Others are not valid cognition, because they do not pervade the knowable. Because they do not pervade, they cannot grasp the relationship of results and so on. The nature of causal things that have occurred in the past, future, and present, and that pervade time and place, is not the object of non-omniscient ones, because direct perception is only near to the present, and inference cannot enter there either. If one wants to know how the author of the treatises is the omniscient one, this will be explained below. Or, the clarifier of things not understood, this is also the definition of valid cognition. Because this can clarify, it is a clarifier, it is the meaning of what is not understood.

Knowledge that clarifies the unknown is valid cognition. Conventional knowledge does not clarify the meaning of the unknown. It does not clarify any unknown meaning, because it is a conceptualization of separately grasped forms, etc. Because the understood is not definitely grasped, it is nominally called one. If clarifying the unknown without deception is valid cognition, then the appearance of two moons, etc., would also be valid cognition. That is not the case, because "meaning" is mentioned. That is not meaning. If knowledge does not arise from the very fact of being non-deceptive, then how can the so-called "non-deceptive knowledge" itself be a characteristic, since it is another characteristic? That is not the case, because being drawn by meaning is not a characteristic. Whatever is understood by the force of speech is not a characteristic. If that were the case, then things, etc., would also become the meaning of a characteristic. The characteristic is what is directly grasped. Whatever establishes the characteristic does not become a characteristic merely by existing. If that were the case, then things themselves, etc., would also become characteristics. However, things themselves are not needed for it, either directly or indirectly. Non-deception itself is needed for knowing meaning. Although that is true, even so, mentioning "unknown meaning" can eliminate the knowledge of grasper and grasped, but mentioning "non-deception" cannot, because there is also non-deception in that. Non-deception is also not the realization of meaning, because even if it is non-deceptive, existing in the conventional, it is not established as meaning. So, how is meaning realized? It should be understood as being realized from definite investigation. Or, here the word "meaning" refers to ultimate truth. The so-called "clarifier of unknown meaning" means clarifying ultimate truth. Ultimate truth is also the nature of non-duality, therefore, clarifying it itself is valid cognition. Thus, it is also shown that one realizes one's own nature from oneself. From the perspective of convention, it is said to be "valid cognition." From that, it is known that this is the characteristic of valid cognition of ultimate truth, and the former is the characteristic of the conventional. If clarifying the unknown meaning is valid cognition, then the general meaning
