Therefore, it is experienced by self-awareness. Because what is to be examined is experienced by self-awareness, and appearance is to be experienced by the eye and so on. Therefore, because contradictory dharmas exist, it is a conceptualizer, and the other knowledges are only distinct. If it is said that since that exists at all times, one knowledge alone is sufficient. But that is not so either. After gathering the mind from all, the inner self is unwavering, when abiding, the eye sees forms, the mind that sees is born of the senses. If there is no collection of concepts, then the senses themselves do not enter. Without that, in the state of gathering concepts, or when other concepts manifest, then the function of the senses that grasp meaning will cease to exist. Therefore, in that state, the appearance of constant concepts, and unrelated knowledge, are realized only by direct perception. If it is said that at the time of this unrelated concept, is that not a concept at that time? How is that state devoid of concepts? If it is not conceptualizing at that time, then how is it realized that this is non-conceptual at that time? Without concepts, there is no designation, and without designating it to others, others cannot be realized either. If it is not so, then designation can also be made to the moment, what need is there for the reason of nature? Explanation for this: Again, if I conceptualize a little, my concept will become like this, how do you know the state mentioned earlier, there is no realization of the senses? At that time, the concept that arises, "this is non-conceptual," is not that. If it is not so, then for those who say that direct perception has conceptual knowledge, until the certainty that "this is conceptual" has not arisen, how can it be said that it is conceptual? Therefore, for the designation of having concepts, it is also necessary to desire others to have concepts, and there are others for that, so it will become endless, therefore it will become non-realization. If it is said that it is only itself that has concepts,

If it is said, then what should others do about it? Because non-conceptualization is also the nature of awakening, what should conceptualization do? Therefore, it is the same for both. However, for that which has conceptualization, if it is said that "this is that which has conceptualization" is a term used later, then, for this, there will definitely be awakening, and therefore there will be a situation like this passing through conceptualization, this is the term used. But it is not so in the state where conceptualization is held, because for it, the term "there is no conceptualization" will be used. If it is said, then, at that time, how does conceptualization name something that does not exist? Just as for a dead person, how is it called "dead"? If it is not so, then how is that which has conceptualization also called "that which has conceptualization"? If it is said, it is also from seeing its kind, then, for this, even in the state where conceptualization is held, there is absolutely no prohibition against seeing it repeatedly. Therefore, since the nature is different, and the situation of mutual non-existence also occurs, that which has conceptualization and the other are not the same. If it is said that because there is a collection, another that has conceptualization is born, and because there is no collection, it becomes non-conceptualization, then this is irrelevant. If awakening arises from the collection, then blue and yellow would have no difference, because the sum has become another thing, so it is thought to have arisen. This is because there is a difference in the collection. If it is said that because it can be recognized, it is thought that "this is that blue, not another sum," therefore they are different, then, for those who have conceptualization, the awakening that thinks of difference is the same for the other as well. Therefore, direct perception is precisely non-conceptualization. Memory and so on are not the cause of the sense consciousness having conceptualization, because they exist in order to hold the object of the senses. The object held by the senses is not sound and combination, because that has no sound of expressing itself, because one's own nature does not enter into symbols, and generally it is not the object of the senses.
