If it is said that, just as naming all the natures of the characteristics that have been grasped, as they are, is like being a valid cognition. It is not so, because for that, it is to establish that it can be named by the very fact that it has the same dharma as other sights. Here it is not so, because there has never been such a thing before, because it is not produced by habituation. Saying "this is sight" is also irrelevant, because it is possible to change into other aspects. Saying "this is what is grasped, is memory" is not established, because it is the very nature of not being grasped. Manifest valid cognition is that which holds the nature that abides in its own time, if it is not so, because it is held to be with the end of death, then his child will die. It is only by following that one holds to be endowed with the end of death, the long manifest cognition holds the long, and the non-long holds the other. He himself, when alive, does not hold to be endowed with the end of death. If it is not followed, then in that case, he will not hold to pervade other times. Therefore, how can inference that sees the difference enter into the nature of what is grasped? And how can it be a general holder, since he himself is an example? If it is said that it is seen in relation to other times, because in other times, for the other who is born, his object has been established, therefore, because he sees the difference, is it only seeing? To this, the answer: If seeing, that thing, if established by valid cognition, then for other things, that itself is an imputation of perversion, what is established by it is not valid cognition. If what is seen is other, but later at other times it is said that this is to be established as that, if one thinks so. Then, to impute to what is not that as that, that must be inverted, because seeing as other, it will not become that that is that. For what is not seen, only the nature of seeing can be imputed, but it cannot be held as that itself, because that which was seen before is held by the previous consciousness without mixing with other natures. If it is said that even if it is not held, inference will hold it as that itself, and not as other? It is not so, inference is what was seen before.
