etc., have definite causes. The continuums of those with great wisdom are certain only from the moment of seeing. Therefore, for those without ignorance, if the common basis is established, then only the common establishment is. For those with ignorance, it is subsequent inference. Then, since things are unique, why can the conceptualization that follows it also establish multiple dharmas? For example, the following after experiencing blue is not determined to be the nature of the yellow conceptualization. In response to this: Everything is through negation. In the meaning of no difference, wisdom with reasons for negation, and how the name is applied, function like a basis with differences. If there is no cause for confusion, then it will naturally generate wisdom that is in accordance with itself and what follows. All living beings with birth rely on negation from similar and dissimilar types. They are negated from what and what, and are different from that and that, and different boundaries of negation are closely applied, and relying on that and that, different dharmas are understood. If all things have negation, then why are all negations not certain at the same time? Because there is a cause for confusion. It is said that because of forgetting what was seen before, if it is taken as an object as it was seen before, then negation will not become certain. For example: As experienced, remembrance etc. are certain, otherwise, the only certain is reversed, both are uncertain doubts. If one remembers as experienced, then it will not become uncertain, because that which is remembered as it is is certain. Remembering as it is also comes from habituation, therefore, those with habituation are certain only at the moment of seeing, and if it is not so, then in order to negate non-remembrance, inference exists. Some others say: Or here too, from the sign of non-apprehension, destruction is established. All things are related to birth and destruction. Birth is the proof of the manifest and the existent.

It should be proven by subsequent inference. Destruction is the absence of entity, therefore, it should be proven by non-apprehension. All refutations, all of them should be proven by non-apprehension, therefore, there is no other means to prove refutation. If impermanence is the very nature of things, isn't it understood by the very valid cognition that proves existence? It is not so, it is not impermanent by its own nature alone. What is it then? What previously existed becomes non-existent, that is called impermanence. Whatever is non-existent, that is impermanent, but not merely existence. That non-existent thing, here too, should be proven by non-apprehension. If according to the view of other opponents, the existence itself that has two limits is impermanent, but it is not the characteristic of non-entity. The very limit of the two limits of the former and the latter, and existence itself, is it not to be proven by non-apprehension? So how is this? Explaining this: By what is the existence of the two limits determined, or having a relational expression, is the word of impermanence itself, by what does it express those limits? For the time being, mere existence is not impermanent, because self and so on would also be impermanent. For form and feeling and so on, there is no difference either. The existence of things such as form and feeling, which is located in the middle of the two ultimate limits, should be called impermanent without any difference. If non-entity is not understood, then neither of the two limits exists at all. If it is related to non-entity, then that non-entity should be grasped by non-apprehension, not otherwise. If earlier and later are non-existent, why is it not impermanent itself? If it is said that existence itself, which is limited by the two limits of being non-existent before and non-existent after destruction, is impermanent, then why not admit that non-entity itself is impermanent? Because the sixth case and so on cannot be connected, if you say so, then how is it for the limit? If the thought is like this: If impermanence itself is non-entity, because it is not related to non-entity, therefore the impermanence of things itself, that is, the sixth case and so on.
