Because one uses terms by showing reasons, if one forgets the reason for the terms, through remembering the reason, even if it is not the object, one will enter by striving for that meaning. Therefore, it is certain that one obtains where it exists, and not elsewhere. For the manifest nature of the reason and the fruit reason, grasping things is not existent, because not grasping at all is obtained. What is to be obtained is what will arise, but if it is not its own nature, how does one grasp it? If one grasps it as the nature of what will arise, that is not so, because it is not understood that way. If one understands it as the nature of what will arise, even so, understanding it as other will not cause it to be born as other. If it is said to be a general conception, how can one obtain distinction in a general conception? Because it exists, thus, the general will not be without things, if that is so, then the sign of smoke and so on, if there is no thing, it will not arise, because from that itself one can obtain existence, what is the use of the general? If there is no general conception, how does one enter? One will enter through the very understanding of the sign. If understanding another will enter another like a person, if the general is also other, the fault is the same. If the general is not merely determined as one other, if that is so, when the general of meaning is grasped, that meaning itself will be grasped. If that is so, there will be no existence and doubt in grasping, how could that be? If it is grasped by way of the general, but not by way of the particular, how will one enter the nature of the particular? If that is also only grasped, for what purpose does one enter? For the purpose of obtaining? If obtaining is also only understanding one's own essence, if that will also arise, what is the meaning of entering? One understands in some ways and does not understand in some ways, entering from the way one understands is not possible, because it is meaningless. Entering from the way one does not understand is also not possible, because one cannot. There is no doubt about knowing, and it is not possible for not knowing either, because of doubt.

Because it touches the nature of both. If it is said that because the general and the particular are of the same essence, even if one does not understand the difference, one can still attain it, it is not so, because it is unreasonable if it is not taken as an object. It has already been explained that understanding and not understanding are not of the same essence. One can understand one knowable, but not what cannot be understood. If it is said that one can also understand at other times, then it has already been explained that there is no direct perception or inference at other times. If it is said that haven't all the characteristics of things, such as impermanence, been grasped? How can inference be made? If it is thought that it exists merely as a name, if the nature of the name is certain, why does it not exist? This is not an answer, like this: Because there are other similarities, in some cases it is completely impossible to understand, because of delusion, like the difference of eggs, because the difference is not seen. Although it is not that one does not understand the difference of eggs, but because of the similarity, one thinks "this is that", because one understands from that other, so there is no name of difference. If it is said that even if the understanding of "this is this" is mistaken, is not the seeing not mistaken? How does one not understand the difference? If one understands because it is obscured, but still does not understand from the result, then obscuration does not exist, because recognizing one's own nature and not recognizing one's own nature exist by mutually abandoning each other. Or the two will obscure each other. Because they exist by mutually abandoning each other. If obscuration itself exists, because they exist by mutually abandoning each other, because they are the same, both will be obscured. Just as conceptual thought obscures experience because it is different from the experience of recognizing one's own nature, so experience will also obscure conceptual thought. If attachment arises in one mind, different wisdom will not arise, if this is the case, because experience itself does not exist, then what is the meaning of obstructing it? Here it is said: Because the previous different things have perished, so they are not seen, and because one is particularly attached to permanence, one thinks it is permanent. The previous object and seeing also
