This very thing, the non-existence of things, is established between the herdsman and the woman. However, the view of the Samkhya scriptures makes ignorance understandable, because the term 'non-existence' is also reasonable elsewhere. If it were not so, happiness and so on, and the individual (purusha) would not be different. If the scriptures themselves are established as different, that is not correct, because difference depends on valid cognition (pramana). If there is no mutually distinct object, then the scriptures themselves will not be established as mutually different, and the object to be made different is itself the non-perception of others. Even the clear and the unclear will not be established as different without non-perception. Non-perception is just this: it is the result of certainty in non-existence. That which is desired to appear, the cause or nature, is the non-appearance of itself. Non-perception is only of three kinds: as cause and as action, it is also non-perception of its own nature. That which is the characteristic of perceiving cause and so on, only non-perception makes it understood; it is not in other and different ways. Therefore, the knowledge with the sign produced by the result, nature, and non-perception, the understanding to be proven is infallible, because it is not not a dharma of things, since it establishes the thing itself in that way. If one says, 'This color is impermanent,' is it not adding impermanence itself to its own characteristic? Then, if one says that this is added to the generality of color, and so on, how is it? That is not so, because for inference, impermanence, etc., this is the way desired for holding. In order to hold what is held by another, it is not desired as valid cognition itself. Is it not to state the characteristics of self and generality, or color itself? Having grasped impermanence, etc., color, etc., is impermanent, what the teacher said about combining impermanence itself with mind, for saying 'added to the generality of color,' etc., this is saying this way. If impermanence itself is understood by inference in the generality of color, then there will be another valid cognition. What understands that general subject? If it is understood by inference, then another subject is also needed for that, so it will become endless. When direct perception

When the subsequent consciousness with signs is not a valid cognition, it becomes another valid cognition because it is associated with its own characteristics. If you say so, then it is not possible in either case. Because there is no valid cognition there, since both are established by direct perception. And the subsequent inference that grasps the general characteristic is not a valid cognition because it grasps the object to be grasped. If you ask, how is impermanence established by direct perception? Like this: There is nothing other than impermanence in things. That has already been established by the senses. The many things are not objects of expression. The dharma arising from realization is the object of expression. Impermanence itself, or color, etc., is not something other than the nature of things, but such a thing is only the nature of things. Because conceptual thought cannot grasp its essence, it becomes the essence of generality. Generality is the function of grasping, and there is nothing else. This is blue, other than the nature that appears in direct perception, there is no appearance of this being blue in inference, but it is named as such. However, if you say that this is the same as the previous blue, then grasping the generality itself, which has not been grasped by the previous and subsequent consciousnesses, is grasping. That is unreasonable, because the generality that is different from the previous and subsequent nature is not observed, and naming it itself is the generality, and the basis of naming is also its own nature itself. If the generalities of impermanence, etc., are different from each other and from the things that possess them,
