If asked, why does the other not exist? How can one say the other does not exist? If you say, because it is connected with it. If asked, how can one cognize simultaneously without being connected? If you say, because there is no cognition, therefore, non-existence is regarded as cognition. If asked, the cognition itself other than that is non-cognition, if one does not cognize that, how can one hold it as other than that? If you say, because it was cognized before. Answer: Although it is so at that time, how can one know that there is no cognition, and thus think that it does not exist? Therefore, the "that" that is certain not to exist is not born from the senses. Therefore, this is not direct perception. If you also ask, when direct perception itself disappears, it is the reason for determining that things do not exist, this is also not possible. If direct perception itself disappears, it can be determined that it does not exist, then, this is contradictory or direct perception itself disappears, and has the aspect of concomitance. If you say that the disappearance of direct perception itself can determine that things do not exist. Then, to say that there is also existence between non-existence and non-existence, and that it can also be understood through it, these two are contradictory. Direct perception is by its nature experiential, therefore, wherever it enters, it can be determined, because experience can determine. If there is no experience, how can it be determined? For example, the speaker does not know whether the other exists or not, but says that he has no experience. Without a definite reason, how can it be determined from non-cognition? Or, what can be cognized but is not cognized is meaningless, therefore, it can be determined that things do not exist. If so, then things beyond the senses, such as the afterlife, cannot be determined to be non-existent. If it is said that not being cognized is contrary to the existence of things, then, if it is universal that it is contrary to existence, it can be understood, therefore, because it has concomitance and opposition, it is the cause, therefore other inference is established, because it is born from the cause. This explains the nature cause, and the non-apprehension cause included in it. Explaining the result cause: In order to realize the minds of others, the two valid cognitions are also established. Because of entering into speech and so on, its nature must also be established. The minds of others are not established by direct perception like oneself. Only from its appearance, one can know the minds of others.

It is not that one does not know whether it arises from anger or not, because one does not understand it that way. The difference of hatred and so on is determined by the difference of the result. If one asks, in what form does this determination occur, but this is not a valid cognition. This fault does not exist, because one sees a term that conforms to the characteristics of statement and so on. If one asks, how does something that is devoid of valid cognition enter in any way? It is not so, because it would follow that it is examined and discarded. If one asks, since there is no other means, will it not be discarded because there is no basis? It is said that the certainty that there is no other means is itself a valid cognition, and it is said that even that is a subsequent inference. If one asks, is it not a fault because it is said so because it is promised by others? It is not so, because what is promised by others enters only into the inference that follows the meaning of others. No one understands through oneself being promised by others. For the time being, since other bases are not understood, therefore I enter, if so, then the next life will also be understood. If one asks, even if there is no next life, one can still live there, so it is not right to argue there. Then, where does this ability to live come from? In seeking the meaning of life, is one seeking the meaning of past life? Or is one seeking the meaning of present and future life? For this, the past is not the meaning to be sought, because it is the past itself. Nor is it the meaning to be sought in the present, because it has already been obtained. If one asks, is one seeking the meaning of the future? Then, the future life is changed by this method, but not by other methods, and understanding from subsequent progression and regression is itself a subsequent inference. Furthermore, how is this term correct in any way, is it your own or someone else's? If it is your own, how can you understand others, since neither is established? If one says that for others too there is only no method, if that is the case, undoubtedly by understanding the minds of others, how can one understand that these forms are correct? If one asks, then how are these also correct? If that is the case, then how can you understand others without trusting yourself?
