Now to understand. Just as realizing non-existence from not focusing on things, similarly, for knowledge, change also becomes extremely subtle. However, things are not hidden, because there exists an understanding of things there. If someone says, therefore the five pramanas (प्रमाण,pramāṇa,cognitive tools) are also not non-existent, then, isn't the understanding of things also mind itself? It is through other minds that mind is recognized. Therefore, since there is no other way to understand things apart from that, the supremacy of understanding things is non-existent due to the absence of the five pramanas. However, if understanding things is because there is a measurable recognition, then since there is no exhaustion, it will be impossible to recognize. If someone asks, isn't recognition just seeing? If one relies solely on seeing, then what is the use of understanding things? Since seeing is just that, what is the use of examining the mind through understanding things? If it is said that understanding things is produced, then, if that is the case, since there is no exhaustion, the certainty of no recognition will also become inevitable, so how can one not want that? Because is the mind itself what should be focused on? When it is hidden, realizing that it does not exist will become endless. However, if the non-focusing on things itself is focusing on non-focusing, then it will become like that, and there also exists what is not focusing on what should be focused on. If someone says that that itself is non-existent, if non-focusing does not exist, then it will become that focusing also exists. However, if it is said that the other focusing itself is non-focusing, that is also unreasonable. If it is merely naming the other focusing, then how can it become like that without the other? If it is said that it is because there is no focusing, then, this has already been answered. The other focusing itself is not included in the other, if someone says, therefore that is non-focusing, if it is not included in the other, then it is also non-existent. So, where does this come from? However, if the non-focusing that is the characteristic of focusing is merely non-existence, if it is not like that, then it is also included in it, and that is also similarly focusing. If someone asks, isn't it also not focusing? Without characteristics, then through what does non-focusing recognize? This is the same endlessness. If someone says, because the distinctly determined aspect is focusing, then, is this through understanding things?

Is it so? If so, then it has already been said that there is no end. If it is said that the aspect of being separately determined is only the object of perception, not another object of perception, then if that is the case, then if it is not known from the existence of another, then there will be nothing called "things that do not exist." Therefore, the reality of others is only non-existent in relation to others, but real in relation to oneself. That nature of being separately determined is also from the object of perception, so it is said that there is an object of perception. If it is only separately determined, then the object of perception will become separately determined, but that itself is not separately determined. If it is not an object of perception, then now it will become a mind called "separately determined," is it not transformed from the object of perception itself? Therefore, only the object of perception exists. Or, is the conceptual thought itself that thinks "there is no object of perception" not an object of perception? That is also not the case, because the conceptual thought that thinks "there is no object of perception" follows the non-object of perception itself. Just like that. If it is because it is hidden, then if that very hiddenness is truly existent in the ultimate truth, then nothing will change into another aspect. That is only unchanging, even in relation to other individuals, it is only like that, like blue and so on. If it is because it is hidden, then how is it known at that very time? That itself knows that it is hidden by its own nature. If nothing knows it like that, or will not know it, then that subsequent inference is meaningless. At that time, how is that which is not understood like that? At that time, it is impossible to say "it is not like that," because there is no object of perception, so is it said "it is not like that"? Then, because there is no object of perception, it is only non-existent. Even if it exists, it will become non-perceived, how will it become non-existent? If there is no valid cognition for existence, then should it not be said like that? If there is a valid cognition of inference, then that also follows the very nature of seeing. Because it is seen later. How is it that which should be seen earlier? If that which should be seen does not exist, then how does existence itself exist? Because it is perceived later? The later itself will exist, but how is it earlier? If it does not exist earlier, then how will it be perceived later?
