Yes. Or even if there is no object, because of the object and the non-object itself, from different proximate causes, depending on different proximate causes, it is a different object. The object itself has two aspects, namely difference and non-difference. Therefore, according to the distinction of objects, there are three kinds of reasons. Therefore, the difference between the two proximate causes is the invisible object that is not perceived. If it is said that objects can be known because they rely on objects and are related to objects, that is not correct. Because of answering and the past, etc., appearing in other ways. Merely saying that knowledge depends on objects does not transform it into objects, the nature of the object's realm comes from grasping the nature of the object's realm. Conceptualization with the general object as its object is not grasping the nature, because the collection of senses will become fruitless, as has been said. However, if it is said that objects are existent, that is not established, because even without objects, the past and so on can be seen. If knowledge is about the general or the particular, both are wrong, because the past and so on are not the object itself, because the object that is grasping its own nature cannot be the past. Here, the world is not understood as the object of objects, because it is not clinging to the absence of objects and knowledge appearing as its own nature, so it is merely confusion. Answering because and saying, shows the application of valid cognition to refutation. The past and so on appear in other ways, which means that the reason that others manifestly acknowledge is uncertain. If conceptualization can see both objects and non-objects, if that is the case, then at that time the nature of objects will disappear, and if that is the case, it will become the nature of both, if you say so. Therefore it is said: If the nature of objects disappears, with clinging to objects as the antecedent, that is knowledge, so there is no fault. That is knowledge, and there is nothing to focus on, because the general is hidden, so it is not measurable. Thus, the general is hidden. It is not understood by its own nature, how can it be measurable?

My own characteristic is the sole object of measurement. The object of measurement called "universal characteristic" does not exist, because as examined, it is unreasonable. Ultimately, only one's own characteristic is the object of measurement, because it is necessary to understand whether it exists or not. From where does that come? Those who examine existence and non-existence themselves, achieve that which is to be done. The object of doing is the meaning sought by those who possess the discernment of existence and non-existence. The pursuit of certainty by means of valid cognition is also for the purpose of understanding it, otherwise, valid cognition would not manifest understanding. Therefore, the valid cognition that can make the object of doing into an object of existence and non-existence is meaningful. Therefore, both direct perception and inference take only one's own characteristic as their object, otherwise, they cannot become valid cognition. If both take only one's own characteristic as their object, then because the object is one, it would lead to becoming only one valid cognition. However, even if the object is one, valid cognitions are different due to the difference in aggregation. If that is the case, it contradicts the statement "the objects of measurement are two." The teacher also said, for what reason are two characteristics the objects of measurement? If valid cognitions are different due to the difference in aggregation, then the consciousnesses of the eye and so on, because they are different from the aggregation, would become that many valid cognitions. If they are different due to the difference in the objects of measurement, then wouldn't it lead to valid cognitions becoming infinite because blue and so on are many objects of measurement? No, because everything is one's own characteristic. The valid cognition that possesses its object would become one, because the object is one. Even if the aggregation is different, but because it is produced by the senses, why isn't everything a valid cognition? No, because being produced by the senses itself is not a characteristic. That would also become permanent. Therefore, it is precisely because the objects of measurement are two that they are two, otherwise, valid cognitions would become infinite. How is it that the objects of measurement are not infinite? No, even if blue and so on are infinite, the objects of measurement are only two, like this: that is

By the nature of self and other, for the sake of realization, two objects of measurement are established. Although it is infinite due to the distinctions of blue and so on, it is only its own characteristic because it appears as its own nature, because it is represented by its own nature. If the difference of realization is different, then does the self-nature not become Suchness? Or does that realization cease and another realization manifest? Because it is not the self-nature. Likewise, that one alone is the self-nature for one, but for another it does not become so. It is not reasonable for the object of measurement to become different for each individual realized one. The difference made by dependence is not real because it is produced by realization. If one is both self-nature and other-nature, then because the self-object of measurement of those two is different, another measure will arise for it. Therefore, this is not reasonable. If Suchness is the nature of the object of measurement, then the nature of the object of measurement becomes infinite. Is it the nature of Suchness? Change. Here it is said: That which is expressed by the object, that is the nature of Suchness. By the object, the ultimate truth of all things is existence. Things do not claim to exist by their own nature without relying on objects. If it is known by the object, but that is not existence? Since not focusing on rabbit horns and so on is non-existence, by reversing, focusing is existence, thus it is established. If even in that, non-focusing due to non-existence is not non-existence, then there is no other non-existence other than non-focusing. Is that which is realized by non-focusing non-existence? What is this non-focusing? Is it non-focusing? Or is it another focus? Or is it non-focusing? Such is the conceptual thought. If non-focusing is non-focusing, then how is it realized by that? Non-things are not realization. That non-focusing must also be realized by another non-focusing, so it becomes infinite. If consciousness is hidden, then because there is no other focus on the object, by what does it become infinite? Is that which is realized by non-focusing? If consciousness is hidden, then how is it
