It is the cause for understanding that (the object to be measured). It is said that the understanding of the object to be measured depends on the valid cognition. The aspect of the object also transforms into the nature of consciousness, therefore consciousness itself is the valid cognition. If it is asked how it transforms into the nature of consciousness, and understanding is also like that, then does consciousness itself become the result? This is true, valid cognition is not different from the result, valid cognition is not separate from the result. The establishment of the agent and the action, everything changes in that way. This will also be explained below. If the eye and so on are not valid cognitions, then the aspect also does not change? Although it is the agent of experiencing, the eye and so on are not valid cognitions, so is the aspect also like that? The answer is: Because if that exists, then this exists. If the aspect exists, then the result of understanding exists. If the eye and so on exist, then this result does not necessarily exist, because there is no difference, if the aspect exists, then it exists, therefore the establisher is superior, and the superior establisher is also the agent. The superior establisher exists only if there is no doubt, it will be explained like that. If so, how is it said that the eye sees the form? It is said like that because the result is imputed on the cause, just like saying that the thief burned the village. Therefore, consciousness itself is the valid cognition. If consciousness is the one who obtains it, how to know? For the time being, it is not from direct perception. Self-awareness direct perception cannot show the difference between valid cognition and non-valid cognition, because all consciousness has self-awareness. It is not deceiving at the time of its arising, and knows the difference of other consciousnesses, if it enters, then no one can deceive, and there is no hesitation. However, if it is perfectly established from itself as a valid cognition with the characteristic of being harmless, then those who say that consciousness is hidden, how does it establish itself by understanding the meaning? However, by understanding the meaning, the existence of consciousness is established, by understanding the meaning, the valid cognition of that consciousness is not another consciousness, but it becomes a valid cognition from its own nature.

That which is not valid cognition arises from the knowledge that harms, and the knowledge that harms is also valid cognition from itself. Furthermore, consciousness arises from a cause, and its validity is from itself. If it is said that the characteristic of harm is that which is eliminated is prevented by the knowledge that harms, then it is said in response to this: If validity is from oneself, from the entity of one's own cause, thus arising and harming, it is not made other by another. If it is said that validity is from oneself because of the nature of "self," even if the harmer is empty, it will not become other. If it becomes non-valid cognition because there is a faulty cause, why is it not considered valid cognition because it is related to a cause possessing qualities? If it is thought to be valid cognition because there is no fault, why is it not understood that it is not valid cognition because there is no quality? By what is its validity and non-validity said to come from another? From validity and the other, there is no realization of a self that is other. If it is thought that that is the realized self, then during times of non-realization such as sleep, its self-aware entity will never cease to exist. At that time, if there is a slight lack of awareness, how can it be thought that there is a self? The distinction between awareness and the other is even more distant than distance. Therefore, valid cognition is produced, and the other is the same. It arises only from the cause itself, and its validity is not from itself. Because similar appearances are possible, it is not certain that it is that. All that is initially unharmed is therefore not valid cognition itself. Later, there is doubt about being unharmed. If it is certain, is that direct perception? Or does it come from another inference? There is no other valid cognition. If that non-deceptive knowledge engages with another object, how does it realize the validity of what has previously passed? The knowledge that establishes, because of doubt about the object, how can it be an establisher? Because there is no realization of validity. If because it is the nature of realization, everything that is valid becomes valid. The realization of the meaning of being unharmed is not completely established at first. After knowing that the meaning is functional, it is known to be valid cognition. How is that which is not previously established as valid cognition...
