If it is the nature of transformation, then it is direct perception. Subsequent inference does not intervene in that, and there is no connection of doubt. If it disappears, such a consciousness will not arise. The meaning of what is known is also not one, therefore that meaning does not exist. Therefore, if inference is the nature of grasping meaning, then what is related to the eye, etc., should also become what is to be inferred, and the meaning of direct perception itself should become what is to be inferred. But that is not the case. Therefore, the consciousness that has a hidden meaning as its object is not the nature of grasping meaning. Therefore, what is realized by inference is not the reality of the cause. Therefore, the reality of cause and effect does not exist. For that very reason, it is said, "If everything is powerless." The explanation for this is: seeds, etc., for sprouts, etc., are called "seeing the ability." Thus, it is seen that sprouts arise from seeds, which is the non-discriminating understanding of worldly people. For that very reason, it is seeing. For whom, this is what I have seen, understanding in this way, that is understanding. The reality of cause and effect, this is what I have seen, there is also such special conviction. Therefore, since harmless special conviction is possible, there is no need to change it into something else. Thus, things, I think I remember, there is no other form of conviction other than that. Memory is related to things, such understanding does not exist. For the time being, it is not understood by direct perception, because memory is not direct perception. Self-awareness only manifests the nature of memory itself, but not in relation to things. The previous direct perception also does not enter into memory, therefore from where does the connection arise? This, I think I remember, such a consciousness without other changes also exists, therefore, special conviction itself is the establisher of all that is established in all ways. To this it is said, if it is thought that it is conventional, the thought is: if there is no valid cognition that establishes the very nature of things, then what arises from the habit of beginningless terms is merely special conviction, and that is merely conventional.

The meaning of conventional truth is that which is pleasing when not investigated. For example, like Lhasin and others, some people, even though they have not seen, presume to have seen, which is reversed by detailed examination. If so, then this would no longer be the ultimate truth. Because all worldly terms are just like that. Everything is merely conventional. Because it is presumed to be understood without valid cognition, it is conventional. As it is said: The understanding of cause and effect, Is from concomitance and reversal. Direct perception and inference, Do not have validity in that. From direct perception and non-apprehension, Whatever understands concomitance and reversal. If it is from inference, It will become mutually dependent. If someone says that because concomitance and reversal are not apprehended by direct perception alone, what establishes the cause and effect relationship is direct perception and non-apprehension, then that is irrelevant, because it would lead to the fault of mutual dependence. Concomitance is not apprehended by direct perception. A situation like "If this exists, then this will arise" is not the function of direct perception, because it is merely the function of apprehending two things. Saying "This that is seen immediately after this is produced from this" is not something that direct perception can ascertain. Like this, one should analyze in detail whether it arises only from this, or from this itself, or also from others, because there is no other possibility. If it is said that "it arises only from this," then the meaning of that is necessarily "it does not arise from others." There are also two understandings of this: is it at that time, or at another time? If it is thought that at that time it arises from this, then at another time it would arise from others. Now, even in another place, it does not arise from others, so from what does it arise? Such a situation is not a cause and effect relationship, because there is no certainty. Nor is it certain that it arises from this, because at other times it sometimes does not arise. Therefore, direct perception does not understand the cause and effect relationship. Also arises from this

If it is said, "I arise from something else," then this view will be shown to not become the entity of cause and effect, because it is only admitted through one's own mistaken belief. Therefore, this view is also not valid. If it is said that it is understood through non-perception because if that is absent, then there is absence, even then, there is the fault of mutual dependence. For example: From the non-perception that is manifest, Other or likewise not other. If from the manifest it is not other, Then only the name becomes the establisher. In inference itself, Understanding does not occur, Because through concomitance and reversal, One infers the relation. If non-perception itself is manifest, then it is the very fault of stating in the manifest. If it is inference, then its relation arises from concomitance and reversal. Therefore, if there is no inference, there is no apprehension of concomitance and reversal, and without that, inference does not occur. Inference would also become endless. Or, if the measure of non-entity apprehends absence through its absence, that is also not reasonable, because: From that, Things near in place and time will understand non-entity. Others say that the nature of cause and effect should be understood by the measure of analysis. Understanding what is hidden without seeing the relation is analysis, which is its definition. For example, through the definite characteristics of fire and smoke, the nature of cause and effect comes from the observability of its existence if it exists. If it exists, then the relation between it and cause and effect is unobservable. Because it arises from that, therefore this is its effect, which is understood by worldly people. Therefore, understanding it as its effect is through analysis. Or, understanding it as its effect itself is through understanding the meaning. If this is not its effect, then arising from that itself is unreasonable, and understanding the unseen meaning is understanding the meaning. That is not reasonable, if cause and effect are, and understanding is also visible, then
