If it is said that "for 'other,' it is 'another,'" then it is the word "of," like this: Because of direct perception and inference, those (things) are not known. Direct perception knows its own, what is known does not exist in others. For this, saying "this appearance is also for others" is not applicable, because direct perception is not applicable. If it is said that it is known through inference, then, without grasping the connection, how can inference arise? Because seeing the result of hair standing up, etc., when seeing oneself, there is no inference. From seeing the result, i.e., smoke, it cannot be definitively proven that it is fire. Because inference that takes the general as its object is not the knowledge of particular things. If it is said that it is different there, then, is the hair standing up also one? For clinging to appearing as one, there is no knowledge other than consciousness. If it is said that for what I have seen with my eyes, he also thinks it is, from this statement it is the same, then this is also similar to the hair seen by someone with cataracts, because two people with cataracts cling to appearing as the same thing. Furthermore, just as some things seen by someone with cataracts are known, it is also the same in other places. If it is said that pots, etc., are the objects of knowledge for everyone, then there is no प्रमाण (pramāṇa, valid cognition) for this. The knowledge of pots, etc., by someone with cataracts is also not correct. If it is said that because the senses are impaired, even if there is knowledge, there is no problem, then how is it known that the senses are impaired? If it comes from knowing untrue things, then this becomes a fault of mutual dependence, because if it is impaired, it becomes untrue, and even if it is untrue, it is established as impaired. Therefore, the other has not observed anything at all. If it is said that even "not observed" cannot be established, then, the direct perception of the nature of observation, which is devoid of what is observed by others, prevents what is observed by others. If it is said that the direct perception of others is not its object, so it cannot prevent it, then how can what it observes become the nature of what is observed by others? If it is said that its nature is observation, but it is not the nature of what is observed by others, then what is observed by others other than its nature? If it is said that it is its nature itself, then...

How could it not be aimed at its own nature? If it is the nature of another thing, how could it be aimed at by that other thing? How could the thing to be aimed at be aimed at by another thing? The thing to be aimed at is aimed at by another thing, but because it is not that thing itself, how is this aimed at by another thing? If something is regarded as the thing to be aimed at itself, even so, in fact, nothing is aimed at by anything. The things to be aimed at by each are mutually opposed. Because only these things are aimed at by oneself and others, there is no such thing as a common aim. Because there is no thing different from the aim, it is only self-awareness, like the appearance of the grasper, the appearance of the grasped is also only self-awareness. Whatever is thought to exist as the characteristic of power, there is no such thing as an external object. If it is said that because experience itself is a thing of cause and effect to each other, therefore the characteristic of power is established as truly existing, that is also not true. By mere self-awareness, it is directly perceived, where is inference? For the consciousness that is not hidden and is directly perceived, how can it be understood by inference? How can two consciousnesses become the object of the result? Because it is only self-awareness, it does not recognize the experience as dualistic. When the cause is consciousness, then the consciousness of the result does not exist. If there is no recognition of the result, how can it be grasped as the cause? Since it does not exist even at the time of the result, how can it be grasped as the result? If it is thought that the cause is completely understood by inference, then it was not understood by inference at that time. How will it be understood now? If it was previously understood by direct perception, and now it is from inference, if that consciousness does not exist now, how will it be understood from inference? If inference is made in the first place, because it is not understood by direct perception, there is no increase in understanding it by inference. The first itself does not exist, because it is harmed by direct perception. Therefore, whether in the past or in the future, the child has no experience. There is only memory there, because it is self-awareness, it is not a valid cognition. Merely fully understanding oneself is also direct perception from self-awareness. Therefore, for the result of another,
