Then, even if there is a self, it will not become any valid cognition. Direct perception and inference, only there are valid cognitions. In the nature of before and after, whether it is self or other, it is impossible to be permanent from this, not with the mind of self and other consciousness. Therefore, consciousness is not understood as the result of meaning. Consciousness is the nature of experience, self and its object of knowledge. The nature of prior and subsequent, direct perception will not intervene in cause and effect. If from inference, the cause is known before the effect, from this consciousness arises, if it is understood as the effect, then that inference also through direct perception, for things that are not fully understood, will not intervene, it has been fully explained before. If the prior direct perception does not measure, inference will not become a valid cognition. If there is a prior inference to this, then it will become infinite. Temporarily put aside the measurable things such as effects, for what there is, but it is not understood. Just as there is no birth and accomplishment without a basis, it is unreasonable to have no established dharma and subject of dharma. If consciousness is connected with the object, things will be completely established. When things are not established, then what is cause and effect? If you ask how it is not connected with the object, the answer is: Here, the cause itself is not the object, it is not possible with just appearance. If it is just appearance, then the mind of a person with cataracts will also become like that. What is the cause of what, without it there is no it, if the consciousness of the eye etc. has no object, it will not be able to exist. The eye etc. consciousness with the appearance of two moons, even without an object, sees the arising. Therefore, even if there is no cause of the object, it is seen to arise, because it is confused, it is unreasonable for the object to be the cause, and consciousness to be the effect. These are the things of cause and effect, when they are different from each other, what is the pervaded and the pervader? If there is no desire to be the cause, but there is a desire to have the effect, then it is not its cause, nor is it the effect. Therefore, because there is no object, all things are not established, where are the things of cause and effect? If the cause itself is not the object, but it is the object to be taken
