can only be understood through association; other than that, it is not desired to speculate through other means. Therefore, any understanding of similar essence is merely a general characteristic, and this can be established through self-cognizant perception. This reveals the object of the effect sign. The object of sound should also be understood through the knowledge arising from sound. The knowledge of sound itself also understands the object that appears to itself. This reveals the object of the nature reason. For example, by careful observation, the similarity of a cow can be determined. This similarity precedes sound, and therefore can be fully understood. Its essence can be understood through perceptual knowledge. Only its similarity is the object of sound knowledge. For example, saying "this is like that" and saying "this and this are alike" mean the same thing, and the actions that follow are also determined from both. Perception cannot understand both, therefore, similarity becomes the object of sound and should be understood through the nature reason. It is similar to this, because the form of that is also seen on this, and also merely to establish the name of similarity. Like this, the two forms that become the cause of knowledge are determined only through the prior and subsequent perceptions. Therefore, the object of sound is not its own characteristic. Mentioning sound indicates conceptualization itself; conceptualization is the object, this is a term. If there is another reason, then there is no wisdom, which indicates non-apprehension, that is, things without wisdom do not exist. When knowledge enters some minds, it is realized that it has not entered other minds now, because it has a definite form. Therefore, in all things, self-entry is not visible. Therefore, perception itself can understand the two things that speak differently, because there is no other way of understanding. Similarity and dissimilarity, etc., all of these are hidden and are the objects of understanding of the other, that is, being able and unable to accomplish meaning.

It is knowledge. This will also become a teacher later. From that hidden aspect, it is not manifestly existent. Whatever is said like that is unreasonable. For anything that does not have me, I clarify from beyond manifestation. With just these reasons, hiddenness is certain. With the nature of experience, the nature of manifestation is knowledge. To realize in certainty is to realize other hiddenness. Hiddenness, through manifestation, even if understood, the essence of the thing is still hidden, so manifestation cannot penetrate it. If you do not understand the manifest thing, how can you understand the hidden thing? If you understand it, then its dharma, its essence, will change and be understood. If the hidden thing is understood by manifestation, then its dharma will be understood, because dharma is its essence. If it is not its essence, then it is not suitable as its dharma. If it is its dharma because it is related to it, then this is complete manifestation understanding. If the dharma related to that thing is manifestly understood, then the hidden thing itself must also be understood through manifestation. Therefore, if it is thought that the hidden thing itself will not become hidden, then inference will not be established. If the thing grasped by manifestation becomes the object of inference, that is impossible. Here it is said, the manifestation of self-awareness penetrates hiddenness. Other sense consciousnesses penetrate its subject. If the two are understood, the connection will be understood, but the two cannot be understood by the same valid cognition. Among them, through self-awareness, one can understand the hidden dharma of the thing, while the hidden subject of the dharma is understood through other manifest sense consciousnesses, and from this the connection is understood. Therefore, even if hiddenness is understood through manifestation, the thing is understood through inference, so it is not correct to say that inference is not established. Furthermore, for the abiding without difference, the dharma of the essence to be proven, if the thing is not grasped, it cannot be understood, nor is it reversed.
