If I exist in the ultimate sense, then whatever revolves around it is also ultimately true. Therefore, whatever is most needed in the ultimate sense, it should be understood that it is endowed with qualities, and from that, the basis for my view of qualities is taken. Therefore, manifestly clinging to self becomes samsara. Even the touch of a city sow is sought for the sake of happiness. Therefore: If self exists, then there is the thought of other. From the division of self and other, grasping and hatred arise. From association with these, all faults arise. By distinguishing between self and other, grasping and hatred are generated, and from that, the faults associated with grasping and hatred, such as jealousy and miserliness, arise. However, cling only to the self, not to what is mine. Therefore, since there is no clinging to what is mine, there is no term for unbearable assembly. Here it is said: निर्दोषे मम सक्तिश्च,वियोगे हेतुर्न विद्यते,Sanskrit Romanization: niścitaṃ mama saktistu, mamatve na vimuñcati. nirdoṣe mama saktiśca, viyoge heturna vidyate,Literal Chinese meaning: निश्चितं I attachment then, ममत्वे mine not separate. निर्दोषे faultless I attachment and, वियोगे separation cause not exist.)Attachment to self, once entered, does not turn back without fault. Having attachment to self does not mean there is no attachment to what is mine, therefore, both self and what is mine are accompanied by attachment, and because all faults are obscured, everything is entered into and possessed, therefore, this connection with samsara is irreversible. However, since attachment to both self and what is mine is the cause of samsara, and since association with attachment to what is mine is faulty, one should not cling to it, and if one does not cling to other faulty attachments, then what need is there to say about that which attachment itself becomes faulty? Here it is said: अनाक्षिप्तोऽत्र विषयेण,तत् त्यक्तुं नैव शक्यते,Sanskrit Romanization: yadi rāgaḥ sadoṣo'sti, tasmāt kiṃ syāt tat tyajet. anākṣipto'tra viṣayeṇa, tat tyaktuṃ naiva śakyate,Literal Chinese meaning: यदि if attachment with fault is, तस्मात् from that what become that abandon. अनाक्षिप्तो unrefuted here object, तत् that abandon indeed not possible.)Because the object becomes faulty, it is said that one will not be attached to other faults, and it is unreasonable not to be attached to an object without attachment. Because the cause of happiness is without fault, because it is a quality. However, if attachment itself is faulty, yes, but what will happen? Faulty attachment

If it is said that attachment should be abandoned because of this, that is not correct, because it is unreasonable to abandon attachment to things that have no faults. Therefore, regarding desire, hatred, etc., which are related to merit and demerit, how can they be abandoned if they are not seen in the objects themselves? Desire and hatred, etc., arise from seeing merit and demerit, which is reasonable. Pursuing one's own happiness is merit, while causing suffering is demerit. If these exist, then it is not abandoning desire and hatred. If it is said that even external objects with merit should be abandoned, that is also incorrect, because abandoning external objects depends on external causes, while attachment arises from the power of seeing objects, so how can it be abandoned? The object itself has merit, so it is the object of attachment and should be approached, and if there is no merit, attachment should not be abandoned or accepted. Attachment is not approached because it has merit, but because of the merit of the object. Therefore, if the object has the cause of merit, how can attachment not arise? Attachment is not attachment to merit, but because of seeing the merit of the object. What result can prevent the cause that is not lacking? This is the concluding verse. Furthermore, what faults can be seen in attachment? If it is said to rely on suffering, then in this way, one cannot be liberated from attachment, because one is attached to self, just like being attached to "I". The root of suffering is first of all "I", and if there is "I", then attachment will become the cause of suffering later, and if there is no "I", who will suffer? Therefore, either both are liberated from attachment, or neither is. If it is thought that my suffering is caused by others, and not a fault dependent on oneself, because "I" and attachment to "I", as well as dharma and non-dharma, and "I" associated with aggregates, are the cause of suffering, then it is said here, if "I" has no suffering, then it is not the cause of suffering, and it is the same as that. Thus, neither has faults.

Pa. Therefore, there is no detachment for the two. Because no one is faultless and detached. Attachment to self, etc., is not the cause of suffering without relying on self. Therefore, if they are also faultless like me, then detachment is impossible. If, like grasping the limbs of a snake, one abandons through cultivating suffering, then by destroying the thought of "mine," it is abandonment and not removal. The basis of enjoyment, such as the senses, is considered to be, how can one remove it with one's own mind? For it, from where does detachment arise? If the cause of happiness itself is the reason for attachment, then for it, is it not because there is removal that it is not detachment? If one is not attached to things that cause harm, then it is said about this: Even if the object of the thought of "mine" is the cause of suffering, one sees that craving does not separate. Therefore, one is detached by abandoning the thought of "mine." If one completely abandons the thought of "mine," then for the body, etc., which are considered to be the basis of enjoyment, no one is without the thought of "mine." Like this, become a god, or become a Naga, like this, may my body, etc., become special things, for them one generates the thought of "mine." Therefore, how can someone with such a thought be detached? Like this: From the hair, etc., separated from the body, thoughts born of mind will arise, attachment to others will arise, this is the direct perception of all. When hair, etc., are objects that can be closely enjoyed, then the thought of "mine" with attachment will arise, when one removes it, then the nature of being separated from attachment will arise, that is, detachment, otherwise it is not, this is the distinction. Furthermore, for the Vaisheshika school, etc., from the relationship of gathering, etc., with it, one's own thoughts will arise, because that relationship exists as it is, even if one sees it, one will not abandon it. It is the relationship of gathering with happiness, etc. It is the relationship of having with the body. It is gathering with having form, etc., which depends on the body. It is the gathering of gathering with having form, etc. Listen.
