।। On the first path, there is no more existence. Because the co-emergent (lhan cig skyes ba) has not been abandoned. If it is abandoned, how can existence exist? It is not that all views of the aggregates of destruction have been abandoned, but that the very ones arising from conceptualization have been abandoned. The co-emergent one has not been abandoned. The first path is merely seeing the truth. By seeing, the self-grasping arising from conceptualization is also abandoned, because it is a rootless affliction. The self-view arising from instruction is abandoned merely by seeing the antidote. But the co-emergent view of the aggregates of destruction is stable because it has been familiarized with since beginningless time. Therefore, it is abandoned by the very path of familiarizing with the antidote. Therefore, existence will cease when the co-emergent is abandoned. Some people think that the co-emergent should also be abandoned. If it is abandoned, how can existence exist? Because the first path of sharp wisdom has all the abilities. It itself is the nature of all paths. If it is thought that the co-emergent view of sentient beings has the aspect of self, then, because of no-self, the mind will change from the very place where conceptualization arises, but not otherwise. If there is no cause for production, will mere instruction become the cause? In response to this, it is said: In order to become happy or not to suffer, if one wishes not to become so, then any thought that thinks "I" is the co-emergent view of sentient beings. If one does not see "I", one will not be attached to "I". If there is no craving for "I", one will not run around desiring happiness. Wishing "I" to become happy, or wishing not to become otherwise, the thought with this kind of view, arising from the power of beginningless habits, is the co-emergent view of sentient beings. By abandoning it, existence will cease. If one does not see "I", one will not cling to "I", but not to what is seen. If there is no clinging to "I", one will not run around seeking protection because one desires happiness. If one is connected with the co-emergent view of sentient beings, clinging to the self contained therein, how can there be no rebirth? Therefore, the co-emergent view of sentient beings

Because there is arising, the very first path is not without samsara, but because all views of sentient beings are abandoned, one will not be devoured by demons, this is certain. This explains the nature of peace. If there is a self, then the very bondage is liberation, therefore, from the characteristic of complete satisfaction, is liberation not very excellent? If there is no self, from where will one be satisfied? If it changes, then it is confusion, therefore it is with faults, this is not liberation. The answer to this is: The cause of the arising of suffering is bondage, how is it constant? The cause of not arising suffering is liberation, how is it constant? If the self is constant and pervasive, then because there is no following and returning, it itself cannot cause my suffering, like space. If it has autonomy and power, how can it cause suffering to the self? It is not logical to seek an executioner to kill oneself. If this is ignorance, then how can I be myself when I do not know myself? Because it is invisible, it will become non-existent. If this is its nature, then because it will never change, it is not reasonable. If even knowing oneself, suffering arises from dharma and non-dharma, then even so, permanence and pervasiveness are not the cause of suffering. If this is the nature of suffering at that time, then suffering is not connected with suffering. If it is its essence, it will not change, therefore there is no liberation. If it becomes another thing, then because it is not permanent, it is not the self. Thus, if happiness and suffering are different, then I am neither the possessor of happiness nor the possessor of suffering. Happiness will be turned into happiness by other things. If it is because of gathering there? Is gathering not another thing? If it is not another thing, then it is the same fault. If the nature is happiness and non-happiness, etc., then the nature is other things and other things, therefore it is impermanent. If this is ultimate
