Furthermore, regarding the agent, how does this distinction operate? It cannot be said to exist or not exist in relation to it. Since the functions are many, how can there be no distinction? It has no burning function, and it is not contradictory to what is other than it. Also, in the otherness of what is burned and what burns, the agent is said to be unreasonable. In the otherness of becoming burned by another, there is no prevention of function. It is not that, from that object, with so many functions, how does it arise? By whom are they dependent? By whom can they act? Things are not dependent; they arise in that way from the nature of cause. If those functions do not exist, the distinction of the result will not change. If there are no many functions, various results will not be possible. What is the distinction seen in fire, such as burning? Is that single nature present or absent in existence, change, non-existence, etc.? If it exists, then everything is burning; if it does not exist, then nothing exists. One exists at one time, and non-existence is not possible in existence. That should also be abandoned. How can these various functions arise from a single cause? Why not desire various results? What is the use of unseen examination? If various results are seen, then various functions are understood. Here, that is the case. By whom, endowed with mantras, etc., can the distinction of results be made here? By the determination of nature, such a function arising from its own cause is meaningless. If fire is not endowed with mantras, it is the cause of burning everything. Because it is endowed with mantras, it is capable of burning a few things. The nature of the burned object is that. By whom can it burn? It becomes burned by another, because it arises from its own cause. Thus, because the function is prevented, the support and the supported are not possible. Therefore, that example of what is seen does not establish nature. Therefore, in that thing itself, there is destruction. If the support remains without interruption, then the supported becomes non-existent, which is not the case. If, again, here, the elements and mind, etc., change in that way, what is the answer here? The answer here is that the elements and mind, etc., are distinct. Mind, etc., like functions, are not different from the elements, etc. Those.

What is the reason? Because it is recognized that appearances are different. In all the different appearances, it is the reason for establishing that things are different. Regarding establishing differences, no other method has been seen. Although it is to be grasped by different faculties and different cognitions, if it appears as not different, then at that time it is the only one. What makes it different is recognizing the nature of appearance, not that the causes of cognition are different. If the causes of cognition are different, then the cognition should also be different. If so, then the difference in cognition itself is what makes it different, and the others are meaningless. There, the appearance is also different, and consciousness does not cognize within the nature of pleasure, etc., but cognizes the nature of things that are hard and warm, etc. If pleasure, etc., are the nature of the difference of inner knowable objects, then it is the nature of inner cognition. Whatever thing exists wherever, it will be experienced in that way, just as trees, etc., are cognized through the difference of near and far. The difference of inner touch is not far away, therefore, since it is the same as me and the object, and exists inside the body, it is not cognized like an external tree. This is unreasonable, if it is the touch itself, then by what is it cognized? If it is cognized by another, then the cognition itself will become different. If it is self-cognizant, then it is not the nature of the great elements. The nature of self-cognizance itself, why cannot it be known by others? If it is because it is inside, then the touch inside will become known. Whatever touches the inner part will become known. The touch of external differences is also the nature of pleasure. Secondly, when touching each other, both will become known. Others cognize the nature of others, how are others not the nature? If touched by others, my own nature will become pleasure, if that is the case, then others should also be cognized in the same way. Because others do not comprehend all aspects, if things are the same, how can they not comprehend all aspects? Things are many separate atoms. If that is the case, the atoms of pleasure are different.
