Since faults from others cannot be exhausted, how can there be no faults? The reason why faults are inexhaustible lies in seeing (the faults) themselves. It is not right to say that faults are inexhaustible just because the reason why faults are inexhaustible is not seen. Here it is said, how can one recognize what is seen? Is it because of permanence, or because there is no method? Or is it because one does not understand the method? Therefore, it is said that faults cannot be exhausted. If one can fully understand this, then one can understand it in any way, which does not mean that there is no way, but because there is a ladder path to seeing the cause. If these faults are permanent, then even if one tries, they cannot be exhausted, because permanent things cannot be exhausted even if one tries. Or is there no method to exhaust them? If there is no target, then it will also become inexhaustible. None of these three situations exist, because there is a cause, and through the cause, it can be exhausted through the habituation of the antidote, and by understanding the nature of the cause, one can also understand this. Having a cause is something that did not exist before, so it is not permanent. When the antidote of the cause is habituated, it will be exhausted, so it is not without a method, because the habituation of the antidote of the cause is the cause of exhausting faults. It is also not completely unknown, because understanding the nature of the cause, that is, understanding the form of clinging to self and what belongs to self, thereby understanding the antidote that is the opposite of this. Whatever is reversed from something is the antidote to that thing, just as warmth and oiliness are used to treat the nature of cold and roughness of the wind, just like sesame oil. Although there is no difference in power, etc., it is not an external antidote, but saying that selflessness is the opposite of clinging to self is not wrong in itself. If the Blessed One is the Sugata, even so, because this is his own perfect benefit, how can he be a measure for others? A measure is because it shows the meaning of non-reversal, and it is not right to show reversal or not to show it. It is not like that, the Blessed One is a protector because of compassion and the habituation of the method. What is a protector? It is said: A protector is one who proclaims the right path, because there is no fruitless cause, so he does not lie. Heart

Out of loving-kindness, all actions are performed to benefit others. Whoever saves, there is not even a glimpse of it in the worldly Vedas, it is merely a rootless realization. Whoever is the Sugata, he has no manifest desires, therefore, because there is no result, he does not speak falsely. Because he has loving-kindness, he is accustomed to methods for the benefit of others, therefore, there is no reason to speak perversely. Therefore, because he has great compassion, and there is no need, he does not speak what is not true. Because he has great compassion, he also does not speak out of the force of propulsion. Therefore, because he is the Sugata, he is the measure, because he himself sees and shows the path of liberation. If merely showing what one has seen is not a savior, then all heretics would become valid authorities, because they show the path they have seen. However, what they say is not the path, because it is not the path, if you say so, then how can one trust this? It has already been said about this, that is because of seeing or practicing selflessness. Because this path is seen by reason. Those who have not seen selflessness, and are not reasonable, therefore they are not valid authorities. Those are not even seen by themselves, because the teachings are mutually contradictory. The Blessed One is: Therefore, he is the measure and also the savior, he is the one who teaches the four truths. Or the one who teaches the four truths is the savior, not the other. If all the Vedas also teach emptiness, even then, because there is self, that is not the path, therefore, teaching the four noble truths is the savior. Then, the Blessed One alone speaks of the uncommon meaning, therefore it is the truth, therefore this is the savior. This path, even if it is devoid of reason, is the proximate cause of peace, like the perception of a mother, therefore what others teach is not the path. What are those noble truths? They are suffering, origin, cessation, and path. This
