Those are the ones with the characteristics of arising before and after. "Here" means extremely hating the other world. If, in the womb and so on, one first focuses solely on the body, and later, when focusing on the mind arising from its power, if it is certain to follow, this mode is impossible, because there is no self in all places. The alteration of one's own body arises from death, and even then, it is not present in all ways. In that case, whose alteration will be seen? "Why to that body" means, the other refers to the dead body. "At this time" means, the other refers to the state of the dead body. "Because the body is not the support" means, it should be understood that because speech is mainly about things, it is not the support. "Only by mind itself" means, because the desire for the difference of mind itself is the cause for speaking and so on. In the statement "What is the result of what," "unestablished" means that what is the result of what does not arise at that time, like a sprout without seeds and so on. The mind consciousness is also the exhaling and inhaling of breath, and the result of the senses and mind, that is how the statement is explained. In "What is the cause of what," "other what" means showing the result. "In what does what have the cause" means many grains. That is the result. If that cause is all present, it will change, that is the first point to be established. When it exists, it will not change, that is the second point. "When existing or abiding, like a lamp existing or not changing," it should be connected as, when existing, it exists, or when abiding, it does not change. Regarding the second point to be established, the perceived contradiction of pervasion is that the alteration of the result is pervaded by the alteration of the cause. Contradictory to that

Combine this with that. If asked how to combine? Then, as it is said, "the living body" and so on. The so-called "for that reason" is because there is no reason to clearly show exhalation and inhalation. The so-called "second case" refers to anything that is a collection of causes at any time, then it exists at that time, and so on. The so-called "fruit of exhalation and inhalation," for it, following and contradicting are not necessarily certain. The so-called "by the reason of self-manifestation" refers to the reason of the worldly Lokayata's self-manifestation. Therefore, because it exists, it follows that it exists. If by this it is admitted that exhalation and inhalation are the cause of the mind, then by this reason it can also be understood that the mind itself is the cause. To explain this, the question has already been raised before. As it is said, "why" and so on. The bellows are sewn together with leather by blacksmiths. That which carries and receives the vase is the function of the mind, not the nature of the vase itself, because it depends on the previous proximate cause. The carrying and receiving itself is also the result of effort, and therefore it is uncertain. If the nature of the vase itself is not the function of the mind, then, even if there is no mind in front, it will not fall into the inconsistent side. If one does not want things to change, then the vase spoken of by the Buddhist who speaks of momentariness, arising in another place, is it not going and coming? If it is changed through effort, then how is the nature of the vase not produced through effort? If someone says that the nature is produced from its own proximate cause, then the nature of the vase arising in states such as going is indeed changed through effort, because going and coming etc. are not different from the nature of the vase. The so-called nature is produced from its own proximate cause, which refers to relying on the cause of the vase. The vase's

All continuations are not produced by the effort to accomplish the actions of going and coming, but rather for the sake of the earlier object of the vase. Exhalation and inhalation are also determined from the very nature of mind. This is what is said about exhalation and inhalation, and so forth. When there is no desire, it means that when there is no desire that is completely aroused by exhalation and inhalation, at some times there is no return, because at some times there is no turning back, that is non-existent, that is its meaning. Precisely because of this, it is said "in one's own nature," this is to express such a combination, that whatever enters and returns to one's own nature by the power of mind. What is called "the extremely renowned" refers to that which has the nature of entering into existence. What is meant by "for the sake of entering" is that obtaining the very nature of clarity that abides in the nature of capacity is entry, and it is for the sake of doing that. What is meant by "if one admits prior entry" is that if the extremely renowned is that which makes manifest, then it is admitted that in the womb and so forth, the very nature of mind has entered prior to exhalation and inhalation, just like the entry of a vase when a lamp is brought near. Therefore, this will lead to admitting its very existence, because existence itself is the very nature of entry as previously stated. In this way, even without exhalation and inhalation, it is admitted that the very nature of mind exists, and because there is no manifestation of exhalation and inhalation on a dead body, what is said about there being no mind is obvious. Alternatively, what is meant by "for the sake of entering" is explaining a second kind of conceptualization, to which, if they point out faults with "mind" and so forth. Diminishing is returning. What is meant by "even if these are the same refutations" is that what is said about there being no mind because there is no subject manifesting exhalation and inhalation on a dead body, and why there is also no exhalation and inhalation on a dead body, this debate and examination are the same. How it is explained through "the state of being dead," and so forth.
