The reason why it is said to be included in the reason of 'non-existence' is that it has completely become the nature of emptiness, therefore, it is to strongly prove that it has become the nature that can be called 'non-existence'. Regarding 'through', etc., like this, because the cause and the pervader contradict each other, it shows that there is no result and no pervaded thing. Moreover, in order to prevent self-nature, it will also be included in the reason of self-nature in the manner described above. Moreover, regarding 'from not seeing a person', etc., because a person is not seen, the cause of not seeing a person leads to the contradiction of a person, therefore, there is no contradiction of life, etc. Like this, because a person is not seen, its contradiction will certainly not lead to the contradiction of life, etc., it will be shown. This meaning is explained by Acharya Dignāga in his separately written 'Analysis of Reasoning'. Which treatise? It is explained by 'the nature of not being seen by others', etc. This treatise of the school explains the contradictory reason as a hesitant reason. Therefore, it is also understood that for invisible objects, non-perception is also hesitant. Therefore, the school believes that the nature of perception itself is the difference. The so-called 'existing in action' is to express the activity of action with the word perception, in order to realize the action. Realizing the agent exists in the agent. The so-called 'no pervasiveness and contradiction', like this, the nature of perception itself is like this, and for whatever things that have such a nature, the perception that holds it is pervasiveness. Such knowledge is also not without an object, this is without contradiction. The so-called 'object-possessors' is the name of 'non-existence'. The so-called 'non-perception' is no perception, because the word perception is expressed by consciousness. The so-called 'is the nature of non-existence' is because there is a return from negation, so it is said to be the nature of non-existence. Knowledge expression completedེ་ཚོམ་ཟ་བའི་, which is called "hesitation," is the gender distinction that becomes a single sex (referring to an uncertain gender state), and is a sign of hermaphroditism. They themselves are object-possessors. Therefore, "having knowledge itself," etc., is explained as a gender distinction with three words. From these two (aspects), because from visible and invisible things, in order to indicate the object to the object-possessing things, following and deviating are accepted. Through the words "no knowledge," etc., it is permissible to allow no sound, etc., because the result has been established. That which is permissible also becomes the self-nature, so it is included in the reason of self-nature. With what necessity is it experienced, i.e., in order to indicate? The brief meaning of this is that knowledge is the self-nature of self-awareness, and it is not that this knowledge is experienced by others, in order to indicate that, experience is mentioned. From the object that one wants to express, being closely transformed by other objects, having the nature of mixing with others, at the time when it appears as self-aware self-nature, in order to distinguish "this different knowledge is different from this knowledge," so it must be distinguished in this way. For example, like the color on cloth. Called "for example, like the color on cloth," for example, like when the color on cloth is transformed by others, because it depends on other causes, it is not necessarily red. A thing is the cause of production, and if a transformation occurs from that, then the thing itself is produced from the cause, so it is impermanent. That thing is on that. Dharma, called different. Because what thing is destroyed, so it is said that the thing is destroyed. What does one do through this transmission? The cause of things will produce different impermanence, and it will destroy this. Destruction, called sutra, that itself is explained through impermanence, etc. Even if nothing changes, etc., is other. Becoming the self-nature of things, etc., becoming the self-nature of things is also that, and it is also the self-nature of destruction, called a special collection. Because it does this, so if impermanent

For your sake, it can also benefit the Dharma Lord, just as the nature of destruction, such as a vase, can also be beneficial, that is its definition. The so-called "that" refers to appearing as destruction, if it transforms into a Dharma of impermanent nature, then nothing exists. The so-called "arising and ceasing" refers to any situation where others also wish this thing to be destroyed, that is its definition. Ultimately, each moment is an example of the arising and ceasing of things. At that time, how can that non-existence be possible? If even a moment is independent, if things do not arise, if the destruction of things is independent, then even a moment will not obtain the existence of things, that is its definition. That is not so, and so on, this is the assertion of those who hold tenets. At that time, how can that non-existence be possible? For one thing, how can this or that existence and non-existence be possible there, that is its definition. That itself is the impermanence of things, and so on, to explain this. A commentary on the fourth chapter of Pramāṇavārttika composed by the teacher Śākya-buddhi. Destroying all the false discriminations of the heretics, the tenets of all the good treatises. I have briefly explained a small part, obtaining immovable and extremely stable merit. May this completely liberate this assembly of sentient beings from the ocean of the three realms. May they always attain the stainless Buddha-state, which even Brahma and others have not attained. Reverence to the feet of the Bhagavan Mañjuśrī, the commentary on Pramāṇavārttika composed by the teacher Śākya-buddhi is complete. This was translated by the translator Rma dGe-ba'i blo-gros. A Commentary on Pramāṇavārttika, Śākya-buddhi.
