A commentary on the Pramāṇavārttika, by Śākya's Wisdom. A commentary on the Pramāṇavārttika. By Śākya's Wisdom. A commentary on the Pramāṇavārttika, Chapter Thirty-Two. Therefore, because in the ultimate nature, for some things, there exists some meaning, it depends on itself and others. Because things have no other forms. If the proponents of momentariness claim that a thing with the nature of destruction does not change into anything, and the thing itself does not change, then when they say "it becomes non-existent," it is "not a real transformation," which is merely expressing a negation, not establishing anything. Therefore, they think that the proponents of momentariness do not have the application of distinguishing between the forms of self and other. The following is explained with "if" and so on: If the proponents of momentariness, in order to establish that a thing will become non-existent, express it with sound, then it can only show that the thing will not become real. If it does not establish anything at all, then the thing will regress. Why? Because it is impossible to establish anything by merely negating the thing. Because a thing with the nature of destruction, the nature of the thing will not become anything, and for that very reason, the destruction of the thing has no cause at all. Thus, the thing is destroyed in this way. If there is a little action, that is, if there is a little something to be done, then the cause of the destruction of the thing will depend on others. But in reality, there is no action at all. Therefore, the cause of destruction does nothing. For a thing that does nothing, why would it depend on something, that is, it would not depend? The following is explained with "action" and so on: If there is something to be done, there will be a doer. But it has already been said that a thing with the nature of destruction has no action at all. Therefore, the so-called cause of destruction does nothing to the thing, so for a thing that does not do even a little cause of destruction, it needs to depend. This is

It is other. If there is not even a little bit of excellence arising for something that has the nature of destruction, then that is something that does not have excellence arising. How can its state be called the destruction of the previous thing? For something that has excellence arising, the sentences should be arranged in this way. Excellence and so on are the assertions of the Lokayata, even if they admit that destruction is the excellent arising of a thing from a cause, then, is not the destruction of the thing itself the excellent arising? How can the thing be called destruction? The arising of another is not the destruction of another. Because of that reason, that cause cannot be called the destruction of the thing in that state. However, what is it, because of what it becomes selfless, that is destruction. The destruction of another is not produced from arising, that has already been said immediately. Because the destruction produced by the excellent arising is not the destruction of the nature of the thing. Why? Because non-existence is the negation of all the near-taking sayings of excellence, those non-doctrinal heresies, through that path, are the meaning of the reversal of all names of power. Because it is the characteristic of being separated from all the dharmas of things. Therefore, for something that does not exist, there is not even a little bit of excellence. If excellence arises, then non-existence itself will disappear. Because things are characterized by being related to arising. Because something that is related to the excellent arising of something is the characteristic of that thing. Therefore, for non-existence, that is, destruction, one should not establish another excellence, one should not establish near-taking. Therefore, as it is said, because it shows the reason that destruction has no self-nature, even if it is without cause, if one admits destruction, then that destruction from the beginning has not arisen, it will become the second moment, like that: there is destruction from the very beginning of not arising, destruction exists like sprouts and so on.
