That which has its own entity is called "that." The statement "it pervades both direct perception and inference" means that inference also has the characteristic of coinciding with the meaning accepted by direct perception. Meaning refers to burning and so on. Its function is to generate. Its existence is understanding, because it is the meaning of various realms. When explaining with "it is completely determined by valid cognition," the meaning completely determined by valid cognition, direct perception, and inference is fire and so on. The function to be proven by it is burning and cooking and so on. The statement "fire has the ability to burn and cook and so on" means that not all fires have the ability to burn and cook and so on, so it is necessary to distinguish. Only becoming such a state is a branch. The statement "having objects such as warm touch" refers to the entry of the nature of the body's consciousness, which has the object of warm touch. The word "etc." includes the entry of the eye's consciousness, which has objects such as desire and cooking. That entry is first the non-deceptive of direct perception. Because it is the cause of certainty of non-deception, it is non-deception. Therefore, non-deception here is able to meet. That will also be placed below. If it is not so, if the subsequent entry of valid cognition itself becomes the previous non-deception, then it itself is valid cognition, and thus a valid cognition different from valid cognition will be obtained. Not all direct perception entries have subsequent valid cognition entries, because there may be obstacles in some cases. Therefore, this definition of valid cognition is also not pervasive. The statement "at some time it is inference" means that without a doubt, the subsequent direct perception entry itself is not the previous non-deception, but in any case, at some time, the entry that arises later from inference is also the initial direct perception non-deception. If one knows any situation itself. Just like mentioning fire itself and so on. The statement "through some similar forms etc." refers to similar forms, therefore, others are the same color. The "etc."ྒྲས་ is the apprehension of superimposition there by remembering things similar to it. Thus, when it is not clear what is seen, illusions arise, such as, "Is this a collection of cuckoo flowers? Or is it a pile of jewels?" Because the cause of the illusion cannot be clearly explained, and without relying on the subsequent action of valid cognition, but rather by definitely recognizing the smoke that is the result of it, then, when fire is determined, the subsequent action of inference is the non-deceptive nature of the initial direct perception. At that time, direct perception itself is not the agent, but merely inference. Only the characteristic of non-deception itself also exists in direct perception, so it is only said in this way. When smoke is apprehended by direct perception, isn't it the case that there is no certainty of the sign because there is also a cause of illusion in it? If one says, "Thus, is this not an object in the form of smoke conjured by a yogi, or is it not something that arose from the crown of Indra?", thereby there is a cause for illusion. In response to this, how can a direct perception that has been obtained by eliminating extreme habituation and that has abandoned the cause of illusion arise? Therefore, by recognizing things similar in color and shape, such as jewels and statues, through habituation, one can distinguish them merely by seeing them. The difference in the smoke that arises from fire cannot be produced by a yogi. If a yogi conjures something, then are those things themselves conjured, or are things similar to those things conjured? For the time being, it is not those things themselves, because that would lead to being without a cause. Nor is it something similar to those things, because there is no such thing that arises from a non-fire nature. What arises from such a thing will become such a thing. If such a thing arises from a non-such thing, then it is a thing with the same nature as such a thing and a non-such thing, because things will become without a cause. Therefore, a yogi cannot conjure the difference in the form of smoke that arises from fire, or if it is a conjuration, then it itself will become fire, so there will be no illusion. Therefore, the crown jewel of all the wise, Ishvara, said: If the crown of Indra is fire...
