Even if the three valid means of cognition, namely direct perception, inference, and scriptural testimony, become erroneous, it cannot be determined that things destroyed by place, time, and nature are non-existent. This is the conclusion. Therefore, like this, other heretics who speak of unreasonable things, by speaking of unreasonable things, are merely showing that the heretics are foolish. The Rigveda and others have been mentioned, and the word "saying" of "creating suffering in order to destroy sins" should also be added here. The "saying" of the so-called "rationalist" is also like this. Therefore, the meaning of the language is: the Brahmins say that the Vedas are valid means of cognition, which is a sign of foolishness, because this sentence shows that oneself is wise. How to explain that the Vedas are not valid means of cognition has already been explained in detail. Because the collection of merits and the sixth is prevented, will it not become that the Vedas are valid means of cognition? It will not become this fault, because this is because the special merits that are extremely famous in the world have been spoken of. Here, knowing, refers to just this, this is the sutra and so on. Saying that I and some other permanent dharmas are the authors. Saying that I am the author of the body and so on, this is also a sign of foolishness. That permanent dharma is not the author has already been explained in detail. Thinking that bathing in the river altar is dharma, this is a sign of foolishness, because this is unreasonable. For example, the bodily actions that produce virtuous karma, such as non-attachment, non-hatred, non-ignorance, etc., are dharma, and conversely, the nature that is merely related to water is bathing. Why can dharma be obtained from it? Saying bathing in the river altar, this has been widely refuted by Master Vasubandhu and others, so it is not said here. Even if one has already been separated from the merits of discipline and so on, but is arrogant and conceited by claiming to be a rationalist, this is a sign of foolishness, because this is unreasonable. In this way, the Brahmin's own

If someone thinks that those who are born twice through common recognition, will they become arrogant by claiming lineage? If claiming lineage is based on being born from the womb of a Brahmin and a Brahmin woman, will it lead to arrogance? Then, since the generality that has become an entity is denied, the former view is not established. The latter view is also not established because the bodies of Brahmins and Brahmin women are inherently impure and no different from other bodies. On this, due to the suppression by one's own sect, I will not elaborate here. The so-called "for the sake of destroying sins" refers to engaging in fasting and other practices that torment the body, and engaging in smoking and other activities in order to abandon sins, claiming that this is diligent effort, which is also a sign of a fool. In this way, the root of all sins is greed, hatred, and ignorance, and there is no contradiction in tormenting these. Then, by what means will he abandon sins? These are the five signs of a fool. What kind of fool is special? It is someone whose wisdom is corrupted. Discrimination arising from the power of valid cognition is wisdom. Someone who has lost wisdom is called a fool. This is the meaning of being separated from knowledge that follows reason. In order to be able to adopt and reject according to reason, it was only mentioned slightly before. The signs of fools among non-Buddhists are immeasurable. Composed by the teacher Shakya Blo. In the commentary on the Commentary on Valid Cognition, the establishment of inference for oneself is completed, that is, the first chapter is completed. Commentary on the Commentary on Valid Cognition, Volume Forty-one. In order to reveal the connection between the first and second chapters through debate and answering, the teacher mentioned "teacher" and other contents. On this, if the teacher Dharmakirti wants to explain this Compendium of Valid Cognition, which is a treatise that extracts the essence from all treatises on valid cognition, then it should be explained. Why establish the definition of self-powered inference separately at the beginning? This is a refutation. The teacher explained the definition of valid cognition and other contents, which is a response to this. Here, it is believed that the teacher is Dignāga. Because his treatise will be explained.
