It is not established as the knower, why? Because it is the knowable. Sound itself is one, and it is included in "greatness," so if there is no other sound, how could it be the knower? "Established in knowledge" refers to the appearance of the consciousness of conceptual thought. And "away from" etc. are used to explain it, that is, its own characteristic, and what is different from it, here the word "away from" is used to express it. Therefore, the knowledge of conceptual thought that comes through experiencing the self-characteristic away from, will appear to what as the separate basis of terms. "Reaching the ultimate" refers to the ultimate of the separate. Here, "obtaining terms" is the word of the sutra. So, is it the collection of the seventh case or the collection of the third case? Therefore, it is said "obtained by terms" etc. When one wants to say that the nature of the result is what needs to be established, then it is the seventh case; when one wants to say that the result is pervasive, then it is the collection of the third case. The mind is focused on the difference of being away from, for example, "sound is impermanent, because it is made" and so on. Such a separate mind is unmixed, that is, it is not obtained by anything, it is called "like that." If one says "sound is permanent, because it is sound itself," then there is no separate mind that relies on being away from the subject or the reason. When "sound" is said, one will know the dharma that does not abandon other differences, if one says "because it is sound itself," isn't it abandoning other differences? If that is really the case, then it is the same in cutting off the objects that both knowledge and sound enter, so there is no difference. Therefore, it is said "from the aspect of obtaining what is to be established" etc. The difference is what needs to be established, that is, the difference of the aggregates of the eye etc. The difference of the aggregates is also where it has not been acknowledged as impermanent by others. It is said to be "subject and subject-possessor," that is, the general characteristic is the reason, because it is the knower.

The particularity is that it is characterized, because it is something to be known. For example, in order to show an example, it is said "for example" and so on. Sound is permanent, because it arises immediately, like that, even so, it is not one part of the meaning of the commitment. Like this, sound is impermanent, because it arises from effort, this is the particularity to be proven. Like that, through "like that" and so on, it shows in order the particularity and common essence of what needs to be proven and what proves. Sound is sound, which means whatever sound arises immediately, that is sound. Whatever is said and so on, sound is impermanent because it arises immediately from effort, it is considered that the very arising immediately is the distinction of the subject, therefore, the subject with particularity is what needs to be proven, and as the reason for its particularity, therefore I think it is one part of the meaning of the commitment. That is not so, this is the statement of the established tenet, even if the branch arising immediately is said to be the reason itself, there is no contradiction. The subject is different, which means it is both that and different, this is a distinction. Like that, if arising immediately is the particularity of the subject, then from many particularities it is understood that the subject is different, in this way, when the self-nature of sound is recognized as sound, the reason for the negation of what is not sound is negated, but it is not that the very arising immediately is not negated. Therefore, whether the very arising immediately will become a particularity or not is also uncertain. When the self-nature of sound itself is recognized as a branch, and saying that the particularity is one part of the branch, this is confusing the meaning of what is given. Because the very arising immediately has become a particularity, therefore, sound is what needs to be proven, it will be shown that this certainty does not exist. Because in the manner described above, this particularity is also not included among what needs to be proven. That will be clarified by an example.
