If analyzed in the manner previously stated, it is not established. The explanation of "the pot that possesses it" is that it refers to any pot that possesses duality. How is impermanence itself, that the universal sound is associated with it, so that it becomes any pot that possesses duality? It should be connected in this way. It is not empty to prove that sound is impermanent. If it is not so, then the fallacy of one object having two impermanences would occur, due to the difference between universal impermanence and particular impermanence. If it is said "sound" etc., then, sound itself is impermanent, in this way, by excluding association with others, it will not follow the impermanence with particularity. It has been said before, that is, when explaining "the property of that side is pervasive." Although one wants to change, but because the particularity of excluding the unrelated is not excluded, therefore sound is impermanent, if so, because of not excluding this kind of unrelatedness, then for the pot, it will become without concomitance. Therefore, it is said "whatever is made is impermanent" etc. Here it says, when showing pervasiveness, it is precisely the complete grasping of the subject, therefore, from where is the doubt that there is no concomitance through the subject? Through impermanence itself, the universal concomitance and when stating the property of the side, through the power of pervasiveness, the impermanence of sound will be established. Later, it will also be shown that this meaning of concomitance does not harm the concomitance that needs to be proven. Similarly, this reason proves that the impermanence distinguished by the subject sound does not exist in sound, because the impermanence of sound does not exist in things made such as pots. Therefore, this reason of "made" proves the non-existence of the impermanence distinguished by the subject sound. This shows the non-existence of the property distinguished by the subject. That is to say, "whatever is made is impermanent, and sound is also made," such a syllogism.

It should be viewed as such. In order to explain the absence of a subject qualified by a subject, it is stated as "by the dharma, the dharma of impermanence itself," and so on. That is, like "whatever is made is impermanent," it should be regarded as an argument with the subject as the main focus. When distinguishing and establishing the term "subject," it is not to establish the nature of the dharma distinguished by the subject, or the generality of the subject distinguished by the dharma. If it is not so, that is, if only impermanence is to be established, then sound will not become impermanent, it will not become merely possessing impermanence. What is it then? The impermanence of sound will be established on sound, that is, because it is to establish the generality of the subject distinguished by the dharma, namely the subject sound, it will be so. Or, when the dharma distinguished by the subject is to be established on sound, sound will become the impermanence of sound itself. Saying "one" is to indicate closeness. Like "from the collection of dharmas as promised," for the subject such as sound, the treatise writer, from the collection of dharmas such as the qualities of space, whatever is promised, arises from that. Therefore, when establishing the impermanence of sound, etc., it is said that if the treatise writer wants to establish all irrelevant dharmas for just the desired subject, and if any of them are harmed, then it is a fault of reason and promise. At that time, because in the case of other dharmas, the treatise writer wants to harm the made dharma with reasons such as being made, it will also become a contradictory reason from the non-occasion of what is to be established. Therefore, the teachings of the Vaibhashikas are that just as sound is considered a quality of space, so is smell considered a quality of earth. If so, how does one refute what is made by the quality of earth itself? Just as refuting the quality of earth, being made is not pervasive.
