It is so. Therefore, that which is called "that" is because it is the object of proximate grasping. If so, what is the different capacity of consciousness? It is said that the capacity of proximate grasping is different. Because the characteristics of proximate grasping and what is grasped are different from each other, it is not reasonable to say that there is no difference. This is the meaning. When capacity becomes an object, because the characteristics are different from each other, one produces many results, and many also produce one result because they possess one capacity that has become an object. Others think like this. Having one capacity, etc., is the statement of the proponents, referring to what has become an object. What is said in another context is that it has already been shown in the context of "That one does not make many, because it fully shows that thing," and so on. Among them, taste and so on are also the cause of co-operation in producing similar forms. This one assembly is the assembly of form, taste, and so on. Abiding is the context of "form." Among them, consciousness is the cause of proximate grasping, meaning that the form abiding in another assembly gives rise to eye consciousness, and that which gives rise to consciousness is the cause of proximate grasping. This is the conclusion. As for "like abiding in that," that form abides in the assembly of eye and so on, therefore, it is the cause of co-operation. Thus, since other consciousnesses are constantly arising, this does not transfer to another place, meaning how the previously grasped consciousness is memory, and so, that memory is also produced by another memory that has become a proximate grasp, and that is also another, and so, the consciousness of memory is continuous. It is said that the one who has become the experience of consciousness, what is desired by another immediate consciousness is ignorance, relying on that to compose treatises, why make endless arguments, and it will become a display not even through the door of memory. Because of the appearance of before and after. What is called is the way in which things appear before and after.
