We have refuted this. When one wishes that others do not cling to the happiness of others, etc., since one wishes not to experience the happiness of others, etc., this is not an answer, but rather the establishment of what is seen, etc. The so-called "this dharma practitioner" refers to the Sarvastivadins, etc. The so-called "others" refers to the debaters. The so-called "when suffering arises, it is not the experience of suffering itself" refers to the suffering, etc., of those within the self-awareness school who possess the nature of awareness, which yogis do not experience. The so-called "yogis do not experience" refers to the suffering, etc., that exists in the continuum of others, which yogis do not experience. Therefore, self-awareness itself is the experience of suffering, etc., but not the arising of appearance there. The suffering of others, etc., does not arise in the continuum of yogis, and since it does not arise, how can it be experienced through the experience of self-awareness? If so, then how do happiness, etc., become manifest in dependence on the consciousness of yogis? Then what is it? It is said that because suffering, etc., appear there and become objects, they become manifest. The desire for happiness, etc., to exist in the continuum of others and appear as objects is because they are objects of the consciousness of yogis, and therefore they become manifest. The so-called "arising as appearance there" refers to arising as an appearance of suffering. Therefore, even if the consciousness of yogis does not experience the suffering of others, it is only through the power of yoga that it arises as an appearance there that happiness, etc., are established as manifest. If the appearance of suffering itself is not suffering, etc., then who will experience them? The very nature of arising as suffering, etc., is the experience. It has been said that "that itself is not experience," meaning that the arising of mental consciousness that appears there is not synonymous with experiencing the very nature of suffering, etc.

Ga, the very distinction of self-nature, is suffering. The term "some" means the essence of arising from one's own continuum. The term "separated from the distinction of other dharmas" means that its object of apprehension is this, and its apprehending subject is apprehending this, or the object of apprehension and the entity of the apprehending subject, which have such characteristics as being apprehended by some other consciousness, is a synonym for "separated from the distinction of other dharmas." The term "mind itself" is a synonym for whatever is to be measured, which itself becomes a sign of some proof. The term "its distinction" refers to the distinction of the senses. The term "without obscuration" means that obscuration refers to walls, and so on. By mentioning "and so on," it includes the harm caused by cataracts and eye floaters. The term "by the very nature of being unable to know" is because the particularity that exists now is beyond the senses. The term "what is other than that mind" refers to attachment to objects. The term "that also does not exist" refers to the mind. The term "because proximity and kalpas are not permissible" is because there is no proximity and kalpas together with some things that are not manifest and have no distinction at all. The term "to what does the meaning of the distinction of mind belong" means that wherever there is a distinction of mind, it is called that. Therefore, the term "meaning is clear" is a synonym for "meaning is clear, that is, mind." The term "if one does not want the meaning to be clearly understood" refers to the situation of not wanting. The term "some distinction of meaning becomes its very nature" is thought to refer to the very fact that it does not depend on the distinction of mind. The term "if that knowledge has no knowledge, then this knowledge is also not existent" means that if there is no knowledge of that distinction of meaning, if there is no entity that holds it, then this distinction of meaning is also not existent. The term "if one focuses on the object of focus" refers to experiencing the consciousness that has the nature of holding the object. The term "that and that also" refers to focusing on the object. The term "even so, because that knowledge itself truly exists in it" means that from that meaning, that knowledge knows that the self truly exists.
