Even if it exists for a long time through rebirth, when it is in a suitable place, it is because there are harms and benefits. The word "etc." in "various appearances, etc." includes Dharma and non-Dharma. The term "manifest and non-manifest" refers to when it generates knowledge of its own essence, it is manifest; when it generates discriminating consciousness, it is non-manifest. Mentioning consciousness, sound, and light is because they also acknowledge being momentary. The term "simultaneous existence cannot achieve results" means that when the result and the cause exist simultaneously, when the cause exists, the result has already been established, so the cause becomes ineffective. The term "because there is no clear object outside of consciousness" means that because there is no object outside of consciousness that is clear, that is, very clear. Therefore, for the consciousness immediately following sound, etc., the cause of the consciousness that is the later state of being the cause of sound, etc., that is, what is generated by the previous moment of sound, etc. The term "what is born of what cause, its own kind is revealed" means that the cause of consciousness generated by the cause of consciousness, only its own kind will be revealed. The term "the immediate following of that cause, the consciousness arising together with the meaning" refers to the cause of consciousness, that is, the moment, the meaning of the state arising between moments, the state arising immediately following, the meaning contained in the second moment of the same kind, that is, the state arising together with it, that which possesses this state is called "that." The term "such co-arising meaning" refers to the meaning of the state arising simultaneously with consciousness, arising in the second moment. The term "also by one cause" means that the cause is the same as consciousness. In terms of time, the meaning of the state arising from the previous moment to the second moment arises, and the effect similar to consciousness arises in the third moment, therefore, the previous time includes the meaning of the second moment and

It means "at the same time as that." Because from the nature of arising in the first moment, the same nature is born. Some commentators acknowledge it as follows: With the reasoning of "the distinction of the object-consciousness from that consciousness," the two natures of object-appearance and self-appearance are established; with the reasoning of "later also from memory," the nature of consciousness becomes the experiencer and the experienced. To clarify that, it is said, "With this reasoning," etc. The one who combines with "later also from memory, it is the second nature" is the author of the *Compendium of Valid Cognition*. Thus, it is considered reasonable to gather other reasons in relation to one proposition. That is also shown by "with the appearance of the object," etc. Saying "not desiring other aspects, thus it has extremely established the second nature," etc., is because it has already been shown. Saying "the general statement was also there before" is because in the statement "the distinction of the object-consciousness from that consciousness is the two natures," the sound of the two natures is the common cause. Saying "the nature that comes incidentally" is the non-principal nature. Thus, therefore, after saying "the two natures of consciousness do not exist," it is mainly shown that self-awareness is the incidental arrival of the two natures. If the proposition is something else, then saying it is unreasonable. If one desires the two natures with the nature of experiencer and experienced, then with "therefore the two natures do not exist," etc., self-awareness will be declared, and thus the proposition will not become something else. "Without experience, it is not that," etc., will not become the cause of declaring something else. If self-awareness becomes another proposition, then after showing the establishment of the meaning of the cause of those two natures, it again freely becomes the cause of the proposition.
