It is in order to completely determine that this is what is experienced in the place. Commentary on the Compendium on Valid Cognition, Volume Fifty-Eight. Here, "the knowledge of experience is only an approximate representation" refers to the knowledge of experience mentioned in the verse. "The knowledge of discernment also" refers to the knowledge of discrimination. "By its knowledge" refers to the knowledge that holds the knowledge of discernment. "How the appearance of the meaning of what is thought is similar to experience" means that the appearance of the meaning of what is thought is similar to experience, and the knowledge of discernment itself is the nature of realization, therefore it is called experience. "Similarity is the appearance of the meaning of what is thought as experience" refers to the meaning of the nature that appears as the appearance of the meaning of what is thought as experience. Thus, the knowledge that holds the knowledge of discernment becomes similar to the knowledge of discernment as an object, therefore it becomes similar. Others say "one's own nature," and in this regard, one should also observe that the appearance of the meaning of what is thought arises in the experience of one's own nature, and that itself is its own nature. "One's own object" refers to the object of the knowledge of discernment. Therefore, the knowledge that holds the knowledge of discernment also becomes distinct by being related to the appearance of discernment, and thus the knowledge of discernment is also one that possesses the appearance of an object. In "such knowledge will possess meaning," "possessing meaning" indicates the apprehended appearance. "Knowledge" indicates the apprehending appearance. Thus, "my thought has become like this" means that the appearance of the meaning is like this, which indicates the apprehended appearance. "Thought" indicates the apprehending appearance. Why is it that the knowledge of the object, which possesses the appearance of an object in this way, becomes the object of focus by its knowledge? Because by its knowledge it holds the knowledge of the object, it becomes the object of focus and holding. What is it? It is the knowledge of the object that is desired to be the object of focus. What kind of state does it become? It is one that possesses the appearance of an object, transformed by appearances such as blue. Therefore, that is the object of

That which is called "possessing characteristics" is the cognition of an object. By "focusing on its possessing characteristics," etc., it establishes the reason of the effect. Thus, "because it focuses on its possessing characteristics" is the meaning of the reason. The establishment called "focusing on its possessing characteristics," this which becomes a sign is the cause of the possessing characteristics of that object, because it is established by the characteristic that exists in the object. It is said that it is the cause of the possessing characteristics of that object, because the characteristic of the object becomes the cause, and in that which is to be established, the property of the subject as previously stated becomes the reason of the effect. Otherwise, it is the reason of nature, which means that if the cause and effect as previously stated are not desired, then it is only the reason of nature, because if it is focused on by the cognition of its possessing characteristics, then it is established as its possessing characteristics, and that is only its cause. Why does it also change like that? By "why" etc., establishing the question, by showing the valid cognition that is harmful when refuted, it establishes the pervasion of the reason. Because it shows that at that time it is not desired. "The later and later cognitions," etc., are shown by the author of the Compendium of Valid Cognition. "The later and later cognitions," etc., are the thesis of overreach, if this, which is separated from the characteristic of the object, becomes the cognition of the object, then not only does the fault of the cognition of cognition not being distinguished by the cognition of the object occur, but there is also another fault, the later and later cognitions that arise do not become the appearance of the earlier object, nor is it obtained. That is the later and later, and in the cognition of experience, the later and later such as its cognition do not arise. How? It is clarified by "how" etc. The later and later is the establishment of the thesis to be explained. The explanation of this is the cognition of experience, its cognition, etc.
