Regarding the connections, etc. It is stated that the connection is expressed by sound, and all that is stated in that way is shown through the method of elimination. The so-called "conceptualization of class, etc." refers to the two types of conceptualization: conceptualization of class, etc., and conceptualization related to class, etc., as well as conceptualization of sound, making a total of three types of conceptualization. The reason for the aforementioned is that it is shown by explaining "difference and the basis of difference, connection and worldly principles," and so on. The so-called "having the nature of mixing sight" means that at the time of convention, the sound that is pointed out is mixed with the sight that is combined. For what is grasped, that is its nature. What has nature is called that. It itself is the nature of mixing sight, and so on, which is explained in this way. What is understanding? It is mentioning what has been experienced before, and so on. The so-called "attachment to that" means attachment to past events. It means that for the thing that sound is agreed upon, the same thing is now, meaning that it appears to be attached in this way. Its function is pervaded by the power of its object's function, and what contradicts it also has no power. In this way, what pervades and what contradicts can be distinguished. The so-called "that conceptualization" refers to the conceptualization that understands the meaning of exceeding that state, etc. The so-called "that thing" refers to the thing that can be seen by the eye in that way. Even if it has the nature of sight, that refers to the second conceptualization. The so-called "that agreement," agreement refers to the sound itself. Therefore, it is explained by holding the name of the thing that will happen tomorrow. The unspoken thing refers to the thing that the eye can clearly hold. At that time, therefore, it is the object of the hair thing, meaning that when the object of the sense also includes sound, the meaning of the sense is also the meaning of the sound. All that is born from the sense and has that object is the object of the meaning of the sound, and its thing is itself. If the meaning of the sense is merely that the sound applies to its own characteristics, then for the approach of external things

How does the knowledge arising from the root consciousness come to function under the power of volition? Even if it has sound as its object, the conceptual consciousness that has a general object will function under the power of volition, but is it not unreasonable for the sense consciousness that has its own characteristic as its object to function under the power of volition? It is said here that if its own characteristic is also the meaning of sound, then it will appear in the knowledge of sound like the meaning of hair that is different from it, and whatever does not appear in the knowledge of sound is not the meaning of sound. Sound is merely the cause of volition, therefore that knowledge, like sound, will also become the cause of volition. Even when the object of the senses appears as the meaning of sound in such knowledge, it will become merely the cause of volition, like the image of conceptualization. When one engages with such a sound meaning, it becomes merely the cause of volition, or so it seems. The meaning of "past, etc." is that even if the sound and meaning have passed, they will be expressed through one's own investigation, as stated earlier. The word "etc." refers to past and ceased meanings. The expression of sound also applies to objects of experience that are past and destroyed, etc. "Objects of experience that are past and destroyed, etc." is a parallel distinction. It is past from objects of experience that are ceased and subtle. The word "etc." refers to the unborn. In this way, even if it transcends the object of the senses, it means being separated from what can be grasped by the senses. If it is determined separately from that, if that past itself exists, then immutability is pervasive, and if it is the opposite, change is also pervasive, in which case the opposite of what pervades is determined. What kind of seeing is visible in the mind that has the characteristic of grasping forms, etc.? Because there is no conceptualization with it as its object, it is not seeing, because all direct perception is considered to be related to other conceptualizations. The non-conceptual mind is shown by "like that," etc. "Likewise" means like the meaning of external objects. "That engages" refers to conceptual consciousness. Form.
