So, for the moment, what is impermanence? If it is merely the absence of permanence, then how would it be known to exist in terms of schools of thought? However, if impermanence exists apart from permanence, and permanence is also a discriminating consciousness, then it would be shown that there is something realized by a non-discriminating consciousness. If that is the case, how can one not accept the very nature of things? What is realized by inference will also be abandoned, because that itself is with discrimination. However, if it is the meaning of illusion, then if everything does not exist, the conventional also does not exist, then how would afflictions and taming arise? However, if illusion is a mistaken consciousness, then what difference is there from the state of being within the knowable? Regarding the statement that "the meaning of the conventional is the meaning that is considered to exist in the world," it should also be examined whether this "world" refers to the author of the treatise or to ordinary people. If according to the first discrimination, things would become multiple natures that contradict each other, because for the same thing, many treatise writers would attach various terms. If according to the second, then one should not accept selflessness and so on, because these are not considered to exist for ordinary people. Speaking of the conventional has already been discussed elsewhere, so it will not be elaborated here. Effort is the previous attention. Remembering the sign is indicated by the sound of the sign alone. The phrase "because it is related to the appearance of the vase here" is a synonym for "because it is related to the appearance of the vase that has a generality." The so-called "corresponding effort and holding the sign," and so on, are parallel distinctions. The word 'only' is to be grasped definitively. The reason for being different from that, relying on other existence, if that exists, then it is necessarily not unchanging, which itself is pervasive. What contradicts that will also necessarily change, so the observed contradiction of the pervasive is observed. Change is allowed, but in a place empty of a vase, the generality of the vase still exists, because it is pervasive. Therefore, for the discrimination of the vase, for its mind.
