Therefore, it is said, "Therefore, knowing now," and so on. If one asks, how can one know that the path of habituation in the causal state is for the benefit of others and not for one's own benefit? Therefore, it is said, "Even if someone understands it in this way," etc., meaning that if one has done what should be done, there is no turning back from the act of benefiting others, because one already possessed it before. It is also said, "That will also appear," meaning that because of the statements such as "Having achieved, therefore there is no attachment," it will appear immediately. The so-called lineage of "showing dwelling in equanimity," etc., refers to the fact that immediately after the Blessed One attained perfect enlightenment, because of the profoundness of his mind, other discriminating thoughts could not understand this Dharma, therefore I will not speak, and dwell in equanimity, which is for the purpose of generating meanings such as these. The so-called "is the cause for ripening sentient beings" means that because of showing the profound Dharma, sentient beings are ripened through generating extreme attachment. The so-called "that is not merely desiring its fruit" means that it is not merely desiring the fruit of understanding. If one merely desires the fruit, then realizing it must necessarily have a complete function, and what is contrary to this must necessarily be without a complete function, and such pervasion is the object of contradiction. In "with compassion," etc., that treatise explains that compassion and wisdom are the establishers of valid cognition. These two are also explained in order by the words of benefiting sentient beings and the Tathagata. If the teaching itself, which has the characteristic of the path of habituation, is not a proximate valid cognition, then why should verses be spoken? Therefore, it is said, "That wisdom also possesses the means of proof," etc., the knower of the three qualities is also shown by the words of the Tathagata, and possessing the means of proof is because the path of habituation itself is the means of proof. If so, then what about the words of the protector himself?

If it is thus established as valid cognition, then it is said, "In that declaration," and so forth. In order to show that, from the aspect of manifest combination, that very speaker also benefits beings and protects them with the words of the Sugata. If it is said, "Having love," and so forth. It should be connected to "declaring the Khenpo who possesses such qualities as spoken of." The qualities as spoken of are explaining what is good and true, and realizing it and striving accordingly. "The actual praise of the teacher as such is": it means the teacher, the word of the Tathagata, the actual praise of declaring such a thing as such, is the meaning of praising with valid cognition. Thus, by the very nature of such praise, the Bhagavan himself is valid cognition, therefore praising from the aspect of valid cognition is the meaning of "the actual praise of the teacher as such," becoming one meaning. Therefore, it is also declared from the Dharmapada, which is explaining the different aspects of the determination of valid cognition. For the time being, "direct perception" and so forth, is in order to show and declare it by showing the five aggregates of consciousness. In the Difficult Explanation of the Commentary on the Explanation of Valid Cognition, composed by the teacher Shakya Lodro, the second chapter is completed. The 49th fascicle of the Explanation of Valid Cognition. Both direct perception and inference have the characteristic of being non-deceptive, because both are non-deceptive with respect to objects. "When it becomes what is to be expressed": it is non-deceptive itself, because it is desired to express it with the clear distinction of direct perception and inference. Even if one wants to know with the clear distinction of non-deceptive itself, should it also be expressed with one characteristic? If it changes with a special characteristic? For the time being, the first case is not, because other than non-deceptive itself, there is no other characteristic that pervades direct perception and inference, because it is not said that there is one characteristic different from it. "From that" means from non-deceptive itself.
