Also. Its substance is merely these conditions, and the relationship between cause and effect is explained by the limit of the conditions of things, because it is said that there is benefit and action for this, and that the relationship is shown to the collection, etc. It is the meaning of merely the substance of cause and effect. Therefore, because the conditions are not complete, it means that because one is accustomed to seeing the nature of selflessness, the characteristics of seeing as self are not complete. The so-called birth dependent on that is the birth dependent on the conditions as mentioned before. The so-called also in this refers to the fact that attachment and so on are the dharma of sentient beings. The so-called nature refers to when the sound of dharma is spoken as nature. The so-called arising from that refers to when the sound of dharma is spoken as fruit. The so-called self-luminous nature means that since it is also considered the nature of sentient beings, the nature of the mind such as attachment should also be acknowledged, it is not the nature of the body and senses, etc., nor is it the nature of the mind such as attachment, it has already been shown to be self-luminous. Its nature is pervaded by sometimes not occurring, and what contradicts it is also sometimes occurring, so that the contradictory that can pervade is seen. Whatever is definitely and undoubtedly manifested is definitely the nature of the manifested dharma. The so-called non-manifestation means being close to the fire. The so-called without it also means when there is no fire. In the phrase "whatever is the nature of whatever," etc., whatever is the nature of whatever, by the meaning of that, contradiction becomes contradictory at the same time as that, etc., these show the establishment of what was said earlier, because this treatise is good at arguing that attachment and so on are the nature of the view of self. Acknowledging attachment is pervaded by the refutation of having previously seen the faults of one's own object, but this is not present, so the pervading is not seen. Because one becomes attached to an object in which one has not seen the nature of having faults, one abandons it there.

Now begins the explanation. "Because one does not desire oneself" means that because one does not desire to see the nature of selflessness directly. Even without selflessness, one would not see the object of attachment as a fault. The so-called "existence of faults" refers to birth, old age, sickness, and so on. The so-called "holding onto virtues" means that if one completely cuts off things with the nature of virtue, then one will not eliminate faults. Seeing one's own faults, one will necessarily not be greedy for one's own happiness, and conversely, if one is greedy for one's own happiness, then wherever it extends, opposition will appear. The so-called "relative to the second to be proven, it is the reason of nature" means that viewing it as a virtue is only related to greed for one's own happiness. The so-called "because the person sees himself as me, therefore, attachment to me and other greed arises" means that due to the power of attachment to me, considering oneself as belonging to me, therefore, greed arises for the feeling of happiness, which is attachment to me and other greed, that is, the meaning of greed arising from attachment to me. Just as it is also said in the root verse: "Due to attachment, one becomes greedy for happiness, and due to greed, one eliminates faults." This is to summarize with the same meaning. Others explain it as greed arising for attachment to me and so on. The word "etc." includes the feeling of happiness and so on. The so-called "samsara characterized by complete grasping and other fabrications" refers to the grasping that is preceded by the manifestation of attachment to things characterized by the enjoyment of existence and non-existence grasped by oneself, which is complete grasping. Fabrication is the manifestation of accomplishment. The word "etc." includes manifestation of accomplishment, abiding, and so on. If one does not grasp in this way, one will not grasp as me. The so-called "these and" refers to complete grasping and hatred, etc., these are the two words of the seventh chapter. The so-called "this is also desire and hatred" is to distinguish in this way.

It is made clear by wisdom. Because there is no view of self, it is said that all those are non-existent, which is attachment to self, as well as happiness and desire, and seeing as merit, etc., those that have immediately passed away, all are non-existent. The attachment made only by the connection with those who have attachment to self is existent, that is, my attachment, which is made only by the connection with those who have attachment to self, and does not depend on other causes. It is intended that the connection is no different at all times. That itself is explained from the perspective of combination. Being free from desire is from the perspective of turning away. Being without attachment is from the perspective of equanimity, the difference between these two lies in this. For that freedom from desire and being without attachment itself, non-harming, etc., are pervaded by freedom from desire itself, and the opposite of that is, for that non-harming, etc., desire is like that, then the opposite of pervading is determined. Because that is merely the state of seeing as existence, it is said that attachment to self is born only from seeing that I exist. The object and the object-possessor that are shown are explained by the words of merit and fault, seeing as merit and fault. For desire, hatred, etc., whatever is related to it and dependent on its state, that is called that. That itself is desire, because it is born from being related to seeing certain merits of the object. Seeing the reason of oneself as it is, jealousy, etc., correctly showing the unwanted object is jealousy. Showing the object of the basis of complete attachment is stinginess, etc., it should be said like this. The method of abandoning is, here, abandoning is manifesting wanting to abandon itself, this is because of establishing the result on the cause. What is that method? Like this, mentioning faults, etc., those are faults and merits. Merely not seeing cannot become a method, because non-existence is the cause.
