Therefore, it does not have a common basis. Merely because other dharmas are abandoned, it is not considered that there is a difference from that wisdom, so it is not a difference and the basis of difference. Secondly, for the side of the sound that states the subject, there is a common basis, as well as the difference and the basis of difference, such as "white cow." In the reason for the common basis, "such" and so on are mentioned, and the so-called "following such indication" refers to following the cause of applying an indication to the sound of a dharma that does not abandon other differences when distinguishing. The dharma of distinction is the dharma of the nature of distinction. Combination refers to applying to one subject, because these are all the dharmas of distinction and are also combined, so it should be done as a possessive compound, because it is more attached to being the cause of dharma. Otherwise, if there is no particular attachment to external objects in the aspect of discrimination, then even if such discrimination arises, it will not tend to do things. The so-called "that" refers to the image of discrimination, which appears to be doing things due to the special power of the person who performs the naming, so it is similar to being different from those who do not do things. If you ask, why is it that only the image of discrimination is not just that itself? The answer is, "that also" and so on are mentioned, the image of discrimination is that itself, but it is not a thing. Why? Because it does not do things and is not a component of examination and analysis. Not doing things is not that itself, which will be explained below. For the appearance of things that come from their own characteristics and appear in the wisdom of discrimination, those things that exist in the wisdom of discrimination are considered to be the same as the general characteristics that have different characteristics. The so-called "returning from some" refers to returning from different kinds, for example, the differences of trees that appear in discrimination, because they are the nature of being particularly attached to external objects, so they are not trees.

To some, this appears to be inverted, and other situations are similar. It is not held that its own characteristic is the same as this. Why? Because in the conceptualization that manifests the universal, the self-characteristic does not appear. Therefore, for the time being, it is said that the term 'universal' is applied to the object that appears in the mind. Now, in order to apply the term 'basis of identity,' 'those themselves' and so forth are mentioned. When those objects that appear to conceptualization seem to be different from some things, for example, the characteristics of utpala that are different from non-utpala, those themselves also appear to have two differences, as if they also have differences from other non-blue things. And, in the essence of one phenomenon, they also appear to be non-different. Therefore, since it appears as one phenomenon with two differences, it is a basis of identity. This explanation of applying the terms 'universal' and 'basis of identity' to the objects that appear in the mind is also only applied to the meaning of error. Why? Although the aspects of conceptualization do not exist in themselves, the mind with conceptualization shows it in that way as having one aspect and as the essence of one phenomenon with two differences. Therefore, because it appears as one aspect, the term 'universal' is applied. Because it appears as the essence of one phenomenon with two differences, the term 'basis of identity' is applied. If all these conceptualizations are only about the meaning of error, then why are the conceptualizations of impermanence and selflessness, which arise from being made and so forth, valid cognitions, while the conceptualizations of permanence and so forth are not? 'These all' and so forth are mentioned. 'These' refers to the conceptualizations of permanence and so forth. Combined with 'all are corrupted,' they are corrupted conceptualizations. It is made by the habitual tendencies established by seeing only their own characteristics, because all conceptualizations come through the way of seeing objects. In this way, the conceptualizations of permanence and so forth also arise only from seeing objects, and are merely delusions caused by differences in similarity and so forth. Therefore, all conceptual
