To not possess is to not exist. To exist on one side of agreement would become irrational, therefore to assume that only to pervade it is certain is also not so. The very thing that arises immediately is not necessarily present in impermanence, because it is absent in lightning and the like. Is not stating 'property of the subject' one way, and stating 'its pervasive part' a second way of explanation? Therefore, would the sign become only the second way? If asked thus, therefore it is stated 'by this' and so on. The so-called 'by this' refers to the phrase 'property of the subject, its pervasive part is'. Because 'pervasion' is stated, the following and the reverse are explained, because pervasion is such. Because those two are certain, and it is also the occasion for reasoning to understand, it is explained by the difference of what the self is like. The certainty of the property of the subject is also explained only by stating 'property of the subject'. In that way, the sign is explained only as the third way, so there is no contradiction. The so-called 'what the self is like' refers to what is the means of valid cognition that establishes it, which will be explained in detail below. By 'those are' and so on, it shows that 'those are three kinds'. The so-called 'those' refers to the nature of the property of the subject, and those possessing pervasion as stated before, and so on. Because this has the nature of the characteristics of result, nature, and non-apprehension, therefore those are called that. By 'from smoke' it shows the reason of the result. The so-called 'there is fire here' shows the result to be established, this is not the combination of the subject. By 'because it is a shapa tree' it shows the reason of nature, because the shapa tree is only a special kind of tree. The so-called 'subject' and so on shows the non-apprehension, the so-called 'special characteristic of the subject' is what has become the characteristic of being apprehended. The so-called 'in some place' is when it is separated from the pot. Mere non-apprehension cannot establish negation, therefore by 'has become the characteristic of apprehension' it distinguishes the reason, other causes of apprehension, such as the eye, are unobstructed in ability, they are the characteristics of apprehension.

Transformation is the nature of being an object of focus, which is the distinction of the essence that generates self-appearing consciousness. It is because it is not an object of focus. Such non-object of focus is because there is no confusion about its non-existence, so it is shown in a negative way, therefore it is said "if it exists" etc. Suppose that even in the direction away from the pot, there is a pot as mentioned before, then at that time it will only become an object of focus, it will only become the apprehended. Otherwise it is not, that is to say, it will never become non-apprehended, in this way it is undoubtedly known that consciousness is not confused, this is its summary. For what reason is it so? Therefore, whatever is specially stated as "transformation into the nature of the object of focus" actually refers to "an existent that has become the nature of the object of focus." Here the meaning of the word is like this: because this can represent, so the nature is the object of focus itself is the nature. Transforming into it is transforming into the nature of the object of focus, which means being related to consciousness without confusion. Whatever has such existence is called "that", that is to say, one who has such existence, if consciousness is reversed, will undoubtedly return, this is what is to be considered. Existence and negation pervade all things to be established, and these two also depend on the three logics, in order to show this, it is said "from that" etc. From those three logics, the two logics of nature and result are to establish entities, establishing entities is establishing existence. One should not cling to "only two", saying "only establishing entities", because these two can also establish negation. The so-called "one is the logic of negation" means that the non-object of focus of the nature mentioned above is only the logic of negation. One should not cling to "only one", because the previous two can also understand the determination. If again there are only two to establish entities, then it is said "related to nature" etc., related to the thing to be established by nature is to depend on it itself, that is, if it exists.
