of things. In general, these things are actually theirs, not their own characteristics. Because these things do not appear in the general wisdom. The so-called "appearing universally like external objects" is merely a special way of appearing in wisdom, meaning "appearing like external objects." The reason for saying "as the cause of appearing like external objects, also completely clinging to the difference of forms" is because it follows the reason that the color and shape of external objects are not clear. If the nature shown by the wisdom with discrimination is only the general appearance appearing in the wisdom, then how does it exclude other things? Only the nature of those things that contradict the different kinds of their own characteristics is the general appearance, so it is said. Like this, being unrelated to the other in itself above is the similarity of things that contradict it, so it is said, if someone says this, then the person with a sectarian view will say: Saying "that itself" and so on, that appearance established by the wisdom with discrimination is itself excluding others, because it comes through seeing things different from others. That itself is actually the object of the use of sound, and the similarity of being unrelated to the other that is said, that is said through attribution, because only for this reason, similarity is attributed to those appearing things, in order to show this reason. The wisdom with discrimination, when clinging to the things appearing in the wisdom of "that itself", will appear like clinging to things. Why? Because discrimination is inherently wrong, even if it is only the appearance of its own nature, it has no meaning, but it mistakenly clings to things. The wisdom with discrimination, due to the power of special clinging, when it arises from things different from it, only from its own characteristics, one should know that it is related to different objects in the way of fruit, but not because the nature of the thing itself is the object. Others, because they do not understand (my) thoughts, so they said "outsiders" and so on. In terms of the general appearance, outsiders mean "their own characteristics", in this way, it becomes including insiders and outsiders. Difference is beneficial.

Even the characteristics are not compatible. From these, is it not permissible for conceptualization to arise? This is inconsistent with one's own nature. From these, is it not permissible for conceptualization to arise? This is in relation to one's own characteristics. If asked, how do they give rise to wisdom with conceptualization? The answer is: answering with "those who can explain," etc., establishing how things exist as they are, those that appear from the wisdom of conceptualization are also other characteristics, and thus distinguish them. Those who apply terms do not distinguish in that way, because those who apply terms, those are only their own objects, only appearing to the wisdom with conceptualization. Appearance is one's own characteristic. The object to be distinguished is the common appearance. Putting these together, only one's own characteristic becomes the object of the wisdom with conceptualization, and is also expressed in language, after believing in this way, one enters into the meaning of performing the function of things. When the thoughts of those who apply terms, the wisdom of conceptualization arises on different things, it is said like that. Like that, etc., like that is a summary, due to their thoughts, when the arising of conceptualization occurs on their own characteristics, not only is it said like that, but the one who says like that, with language as the cause of the agent, also shows the meaning of removing from non-agents. If those who can distinguish also think that appearance and the object to be distinguished are the same, why would there be no doubt? Therefore, it is said "those who think about that nature," those who think about that nature are those who can explain following reason. From the perspective of different appearances, etc., appearance appears clearly, but what should be distinguished does not, because the exclusion related to conceptualization is not allowed. The word "etc." indicates that even if appearance disappears, what should be distinguished will not disappear, and performing the function of things and not
