And, when it is said that "a cow is different from a horse," or when one knows that, what is different? Are the different and the things that possess difference actually different, or are they not different? If according to the first conceptualization, then only the general aspect is called difference. If one asks about the second situation, wouldn't knowledge and sound become different? Therefore, it is said "also on that" etc., for that which has the meaning of excluding other sounds, there is also difference from others, and the sound of "this is different from others," which states the dharma and the possessor of dharma, and those which are the objects of both certainties, are in accordance with names. In accordance with names, it distinguishes the objects, dharma and possessor of dharma, of these. Ultimately, there is no difference between difference and the things that possess difference, this is the concluding statement. That itself excludes others, and is indicated by "also on that" etc., the difference between a horse and a cow, and for others, the statement that a cow is different from a horse is also other, this does not exist. However, whatever is different, that itself is difference. If what is different from a horse is not the horse itself, but becomes something else that is different from the substance of a cow, then, because of the difference, what is different from a horse, the substance of a cow will also be different. Therefore, from that which is different, from what is different from a horse, what is not the horse itself is different, because of the cow, it will become existent in that, because it will become existent in the horse. If this becomes the horse itself, then, what is different from a horse, not the nature of the horse itself, the cow is different. If that is the case, then the cow will have the horse, therefore, the difference between the horse and the cow does not exist. Because of what reason is that so, therefore it is said "because of that reason" etc., this is completely explaining the reality of difference and the things that possess difference, for the nature of the external object, because the nature of difference itself is the essence of difference. This is actually not the meaning of sound, but the speakers and listeners, make the appearances and the things that need to be distinguished into one meaning, and for that, they also generate the pride of appearing as the meaning of sound, therefore, that is also explained here. When relying on the external object, for the possessor of dharma that exists in conceptualization, it becomes the basis of various dharmas.

If one thinks about who, then that itself is the meaning of sound, therefore only it has a common basis, etc. The dharma that becomes the meaning of sound, the things that return from it, should not be said to be itself or other. This will be explained below. If returning and that which is related to it are not different, then how can sound and knowledge be different? For example, the sound of saying "non-horse itself" is also other, and the sound of saying "non-horse" is also other. Similarly, what is to be known is also different. If one says "non-horse itself", then only the dharma will be known, and if one says "non-horse", then the one who has the dharma will be known. Therefore, "sound", etc. are said. What is understood from the sound that expresses dharma and the one who has dharma is what is understood by sound. Sound and what is understood by sound are considered to be a different whole, that is, the difference of sound and the difference of what is understood from sound. Convention is what connects the name and the one who has the name, and this is achieved through its branches. The branches of convention will be shown below by "abandoning other differences", etc. For what is to be expressed, there is no difference, this is actually guided only by the sounds of dharma and the one who has dharma. Because what is to be expressed by others has no difference, so it is said, etc. If what is to be expressed has no difference, why can't convention be different? "Both", etc. are said, that is, the sounds of dharma and the one who has dharma, because both express the same meaning. If what is to be expressed by both is the same, then convention is meaningless. If that is the case, then dharma and the one who has dharma will not be different. Distinguishing differently means expressing differently, that is, "the horseness of a horse" is the sixth. That is the way to distinguish differently, because it depends on difference. It exists depending on a different basis. For example, like "Devadatta pours all the balls in". Thus, in order to refute the absence of convention and the absence of distinguishing differently, temporarily, in order to avoid the fault of not distinguishing differently, "both" is said.
