The nature of the dharma becomes the reason, for example, "sound is impermanent, because it is impermanent," and "it is impermanent, because it is made." If it is like this in one calculation, one would think, "then the reason is not established." The proponent says, "that is without fault," etc. The so-called "nature" is the self-essence. Each self-essence is its own self-essence, because it abides in it. Concordant things Among other things. The term "concordant things" refers to showing the same kind. Other things are different kinds. From those, it will also be explained as wanting the same kind, etc. Whatever is one's own thing, other things, etc. When saying this, the term "one's own thing" must also be explained as meaning the same kind. The support is to be the support. Whatever those have, those are called those, which is a synonym for having pervasion. The so-called "cause of that" is the cause of pervasion. The so-called "class difference" is the difference of dharma, namely impermanence, etc. The so-called "those that can be understood by that difference" refers to the difference of the self-essence of pervasion, namely having made a difference, etc. Whatever it is, through the path of sound and equality, such things can be understood. Because whatever reason becomes like that, therefore, after observing the difference of pervasion, relying on pervasion, establishing impermanence, whatever dharma that has the term impermanence can be understood, that difference is from other than that, with the term other than impermanence, made the term other than. Similarly, it should be said for everything. Because of that reason, therefore, they abide separately, the meaning of sound abiding separately is separate. All things are, etc., refers to showing the meaning of the summary, whatever those that abide in their own self-essence, in their own entity, are called those. Those things that abide in their own self-essence are self and other, similar to other than their own self-essence, but do not become one, why? Because the other that should be mixed is other

then it would become identical to itself. It would become self-existent. If one thinks that distinctions such as pots have the three qualities as their own nature, and therefore are merely mixed, then, therefore, it is said "whatever these" etc. "These" refers to things. "Becoming one's own nature" means non-different. "Essence" means one's own essence. "Non-different" means one. It is not possible to apply the term "that essence belongs to those distinctions." Why? Because the three qualities have become the nature of one, at that time the distinctions such as pots do not exist. If things become one essence, then, at that time, that very thing will become non-different, because it is non-different and exists, and because there is no other different nature apart from it. If the three qualities are non-different, but the distinctions such as pots are caused by increase and decrease, then, it is said "that itself" etc. Even if the three qualities themselves are non-different, they will contradict each other due to increase and decrease. Therefore, if one admits that things follow each other, then they only abide in one essence. That one essence is also only not mixed with the essence of a person, because it abides in its own nature, and in that case, only the elimination of others is established. Furthermore, the Vaibhashikas believe that things are the same through other general meanings. In order to eliminate this, it is said "other meanings" etc. Even if other meanings such as existence and cow-ness are related to multiple meanings, they are not the general meaning of those clear distinctions. Why? Because it is not its essence, because it is not the same in characteristics as the clear distinctions. If it is not its essence, but merely because it possesses non-one things, it is the general meaning of those things, then, at that time, having duality etc. and the substance of fruits, would also become the nature of the general meaning, because duality also possesses non-one substances.
