Consciousness accompanied by discrimination arises distinctly from the cause of mere attention. The distinct association with the result lies solely in the difference between the similar and the dissimilar, and it exists only from aggregates, not otherwise. There is much to say here, so let it be set aside for now. Because it generates aggregates, it also makes the accompanying factors countless. There is no gradual arising, this is the concluding statement. With "whatever," etc., one answers to address the doubt of arising from dissimilar kinds. The word "etc." includes the arising of bamboo from a bull's horn, and the arising of grass from the hair of a bull and the wool of a sheep. The word "also" refers to the arising of results from dissimilar kinds. "Even if it is said thus" means that even if one says that উৎপལ་ etc. arise from dissimilar kinds, one is only saying উৎপལ་ etc. উৎপལ་ etc., whatever has its own seed arising and being produced from the characteristics of উৎপལ་ etc., therefore, having arisen from its own seed, it only has its own distinct nature. Why? Because of the distinct nature of the cause, because of the distinct nature of the characteristics of the two aggregates of causes. A water tree, whatever arises from seed and trunk, is called that, and it is mutually different from different causes. To say that this difference does not need to be proven, "like that" etc. is stated. Distinguishing means recognizing the difference. Having a very distinct aspect means having a definite aspect distinguished from the similar aspects of delusion. Following means existing when it exists. Contradictory means not existing when it does not exist. Following and contradictory are following and contradictory, from which, whatever nature of the result follows, seeing what cause it follows, the nature of the follower is its cause, and the sentence is constructed to say that the cause exists in whatever follows.

When explaining in reliance on the cause, the nature of the follower, such as fire, is its cause, and smoke, etc., which are considered as the result, is its cause. Because they depend on each other in this way, the nature of cause and effect is certain, therefore, it will not arise from things that do not match the type of cause. Therefore, even if things have only been seen once or not seen, as mentioned before, because direct perception and non-apprehension establish the things of cause and effect, cause and effect are established, so it is realized, thereby realizing the concomitance and contradiction. Otherwise, it is not, meaning that it is impossible to realize concomitance and contradiction by only seeing or not seeing some things without realizing the certainty of the things of cause and effect. Why? Because realizing concomitance and contradiction depends only on seeing and not seeing, so it depends on all things seen and not seen. If seen, if the reason is seen for all similar instances, then concomitance can be established; similarly, for not seeing, if the reason is not seen for all of the opposite of what is to be established, then contradiction can be established. For example, just seeing a clear smoke once establishes that it is a result, so thinking that everything is like this, similarly, from seeing and not seeing some similar and dissimilar instances, it can be determined that all are concomitant and contradictory, even if you think so, it is contradictory. For example, for non-corporeal beings belonging to space, etc., even if some are seen as permanent, this is saying what others acknowledge. Sixth fascicle. Others refer to happiness, etc. In addition, because the reason is seen in impermanence that it is a non-corporeal being, it cannot be established that everything is like that when seen in one. Therefore, seeing is a confusion about concomitance. Similarly, for some things that do not have permanence, such as pots, not seeing a non-corporeal being is also because it is only seen in things that do not have permanence, such as happiness, etc. Therefore, not seeing in one of the dissimilar instances

The retraction is definitely not a proof. Therefore, following and reversing inferences are only certain from the definite entities of cause and effect. Others have stated "the result is" and so on. If it is said that "that" does not arise if cause and effect do not exist, then it has already been proven. So, for the reason of self-nature, how can it not arise if it does not exist? The nature of merely existing and being related is also a reason, etc. Has it not already been proven that the non-existence of the permanent self-nature reason does not arise? If true, then others may think that the self-nature is just like that and how the relationship exists, and that for saying that it does not arise if it does not exist, one aspect of the meaning of the oath will become the reason. Moreover, those who speak of established tenets also think that eliminating others is the ultimate result of vigorous proof, and completely abandon one aspect of the meaning of the oath. Repeating what was said earlier that it is only related to it and does not arise if it does not exist, it is said that "for self-nature also, it does not arise if it does not exist," etc. For self-nature, for the reason of self-nature, it also does not arise if it does not exist. If asked what needs to be proven, it is that which is related to existence. This is explained in detail by "what is it," etc. The so-called "existence does not arise if it does not exist" is existence, impermanence, etc. Thus, if that does not exist, then the dharma to be proven, if it is not related to existence, then the existence stated as the reason will not exist. Why? Because there is no difference between what needs to be proven and what proves it. To explain that there is no difference, it is said, "What is the nature," etc. Merely relying on the nature of impermanence, etc., saying that it is the self-nature that depends on existence, that itself is because it does not depend on other causes, so it exists directly in the ultimate sense, that is, the made nature. That existence also abandons the impermanence that has become its own nature, how can it exist? Others have said "then" etc., the oath is the indication of the subject. Its meaning is the general aspect of dharma and the possessor of dharma. One aspect of it is what needs to be proven.
