Moreover, due to the causes of the object of sound, it is also the same for many spoken words. How can the nature of sound, apart from its own unique result, merely be a cacophony, producing other results? It does not produce, that is the meaning of not producing. Because there is no different cause, the nature of the cause is unique, yet there are different results. The cause itself sometimes does not exist, and sometimes it does exist, it is not reasonable to have such characteristics. Why? Because the different results that do not depend on different causes would lead to the fault of being without a cause, which has been said before. Merely a cacophony will be heard, but not expressive sounds, saying that is also unreasonable. If so, it is not that the expressive is not heard in the cacophony, but only that it is heard. Why? Because the cacophony, for the words spoken, can understand the words and language. Furthermore, how can one sense faculty, or because of determining ability, understand different sounds? If it can hold many mere sounds, then the different nature of expression is also not, what certainty is there for this? If so, when the various abilities with definite sense faculties simultaneously hear the various natures of mere sound, what is it like? The determination for each sound, that is, it is determined as the manifestation of sound, but the sounds themselves are not heard simultaneously. If so, for the expressive sounds, these sense faculties will turn their backs, if they wish, who will hear it? If this phenomenon is not the ability of things, then what is there to say about this? It is not so, like this, when simultaneously holding mere sounds, the ear can hold it because it is the nature of being able to be heard and abides in a suitable place for the object. If the expressive sounds also have such a form, then why don't they hold them? Therefore, this arbitrary statement is merely speculation. Mere sounds, etc., are the views of others, Buddhists believe that mere sounds cannot be separated from the nature of expressive words and language.

How can what is said not be established? It is only established. Why? Because meaning is understood from words, that is, from words, that is, the expression of sound, meaning is understood from what is to be expressed. In order to show that this understanding of meaning is not possible only from sound, it is said, "Only sound," and so on. Because it has parts, because it is its own moment, the sound only becomes sequential, and among them, the part of the sound only, the very small part that clearly manifests the letters, does not understand the meaning. For the time being, not to mention that even one letter does not have meaning, what to say about the very small part of the sound that clearly manifests it? Those parts of sound that occur simultaneously will generate understanding, but that is not the case. Because the very small part of the sound only has to be mixed with the part of the sound only that appears later, but it is not simultaneous, because it is not a moment. Therefore, the nature of words and speech, when expressed, whatever is not omitted, that is, exists completely, that is the complete nature of words and speech. The understanding of meaning to be proven by this does not exist only in sound. In what kind of sound does it exist? It exists in the sound that does not have complete parts. Because the part of the sound only arises and appears, it does not stay in the second moment, so it is not a complete part, precisely because it is speech. This understanding of meaning does not exist only in sound, and this does not exist either, therefore, what is different from sound, what can produce the understanding of those sounds without order? If so, what understanding of meaning as a result exists without order? Thus combining words and phrases, it means without parts. The part of the sound only has order, that is, it is different from the expression, it is established. Whatever part with order exists, thus combining words and phrases. This is not the case, etc., using "not" to prevent, that which was just said does not exist. Why? Because the sound without order is different from the letter with order, before we from the words and speech of Devadatta etc., the letter now

Because it has already been prevented from saying things like, "Apart from appearances, no other appearances of mind are seen." If, for those that do not possess all sounds, because there is no understanding of meaning, then at the time of understanding that the nature of sound is something without order, then such understanding is too excessive. In that case, just as gestures of hands, etc., are used to indicate actions such as walking, etc., those parts of those actions are the parts of the action. Because they are the same instant, there is no connection between the previous part of the action and the later part of the action, which is unreasonable. A single part, that is, a very small part of the action, cannot understand the meaning of characteristics such as walking and coming, etc., so it is different from that, that is, different from the parts of the action, just as the gesture of raising a hand, etc., is the gesture of the hand. The mention of "etc." is for the sake of clear understanding. Gestures such as shaking the head, etc., should be understood. Those, just like the gestures, the entire nature of those actions themselves, should also be considered as the cause of understanding meaning. If asked what it is like, it is like sound. If it is like understanding a sound that returns from a sound, then that is not the case either. In that case, just as there is no nature of action that returns from the parts of the action, so too for the parts of sound, there is no different nature of sound. If asked how it becomes dependent on meaning, therefore, "nature" etc. is said. What is the nature like, what is done with what, such as the throat, etc., from those combined causes of action, the difference of action arises, or what is the nature like, the combination of the causes of the combining action, if it has the habit of action arising in order, then this should also be combined. As previously stated, the nature of letters or those parts of action, are the objects of sequential discrimination, that is, the objects of discriminations with a linguistic style that follows the sequence of knowledge experienced in sequence, just like the gestures, they generate the understanding of meaning.
