No. Why? Because consciousness cannot successively grasp the arrangement of many letters. If it were one, then the one consciousness would grasp everything. Because in one, there cannot be the nature of having grasped and not grasped. If it is said that one consciousness grasps words, etc., then it is said, "By what, etc.?" Words, etc., cannot be grasped by one consciousness, because it grasps the collection of letters in their proper order. Twenty-sixth fascicle. Briefly, if many consciousnesses have ceased when one letter is completed, what need is there to say about many letters? To show this meaning, it is said, "One letter, etc." Because many consciousnesses cease when grasping one letter. Why? Because all consciousnesses are momentary. If this is true, then since the time of grasping, such as the length of time, is momentary, will only one consciousness grasp words, etc.? Then it is said, "Momentary, etc." A moment is that which transcends the infinitesimal dust of the length of time, because a moment is a time division without parts. A moment is the ultimate of a time division without parts. It should also be a time division that transcends one infinitesimal dust. If one admits that a moment is greater than the time division spoken of in this way, then because it has parts, that is, the moment is greater than it, there cannot be an end to time. To show that even one extremely small letter is completed by many moments, it is said, "That which has not transcended an infinitesimal dust, in whom there is the eye of transcendence, is simultaneous with the eye of that which has not transcended many infinitesimal dusts." The letters such as A, when combined, even the extremely small are complete. If, as the knowledge experienced, it enters into the words, etc., arranged in letters, then, by the power of experiencing the order of letters, whatever is remembered, does it grasp the unarranged words, etc.? No. Why? Because it remembers as it was experienced. Like sound

Just as experiencing in sequence, it is also because of how one remembers. If that memory also arises gradually, then it is only at that time, i.e., the time of experiencing. Just as it is in accordance with the order of experiencing, the order of remembering sounds is also the self-knowing nature of all beings, if that is the case, then there is no difference to be examined in this order similar to experiencing. Therefore, there is no way to know the difference in the order of remembering experiences. One memory does not hold words and speech. Nor are they many words, etc. Why? Because there is no difference in the mind, because the mind does not appear as different, because the mind with the aspect of words and speech has no difference, it appears as one. By the power of appearing in the mind, oneness and multiplicity will be established, because the words, etc., appearing in the mind have the nature of oneness, so the thought of words and speech being one will arise, thus creating a false conceptualization. For the time being, the mind of experience arises through the arrangement of letters, and there is no appearance of oneness there, and memory also arises as how one experiences, and that is not held as one, isn't that what is said? There, for whom is there any other mind in which words and speech appear without difference? To this, some people think that experience and memory arise in sequence, and it is by the power of the mind that later arisers cling to as one, so they say that. For example: Others, seeds imbued with sound, Together with the final sound, Those born fully ripened, Surely fix names in the mind. Just like that, by the power of becoming such a mind, one should not affirm the oneness of words and speech in the external world, because the mind that clings to oneness is erroneous. Others say "from the mind," this is the fifth case. Because the mind of conceptualization with the aspect of words and speech, words and speech appear without difference, because there is no difference from one mind, that is the meaning. No difference from one mind

If so, how does it become many? Because its multiplicity, that is, the multiplicity of words, etc., will be refuted below. Because that which is called one and many is not permissible. Therefore, words, etc., are not things. Or, that which is called "that" is combined with words, etc. Words, etc., are not things, because one and many are not permissible. That is the meaning. Why? Because it does not go beyond the discrimination of that thing, that is, it does not go beyond the discrimination of one and many. If others think that the relationship between sound and meaning is a thing, then how does it become its basis? Words and speech are not things, therefore it becomes its basis. Wherever words and speech are its basis, the word is separately combined. Why? Because words, etc., do not exist, therefore they cannot be taken as a basis. If so, if there is no thing to be a basis, then the relationship becomes non-dependent. Therefore, since it is without a basis, it is not a relationship, because a relationship is always under the control of another. Because it is like that, the relationship between sound and meaning is not self-existent. By "its thought," etc., it is shown how the relationship between sound and meaning is logical. Its thought refers to the combination of having the thought of showing meaning, that is, the sound arising from internal movements, etc. That is explained by the power of logic. The manifest sound is explained in that way through the thoughts of others. There is no error there, because there is no error in the thought of showing meaning. This relationship of sound is that itself, That is, there is no error in showing meaning, because sound is combined with the thought of showing meaning. The arising and manifestation of sound also depend on showing meaning without error. The reason for being without error is also because it is made by human effort, because it is made by humans, therefore sound and meaning
