When explaining the word "difficult," it should be connected with words that indicate plurality using the sign of birth. Why? Because those pramanas ( प्रमाण ,pramāṇa,means of valid cognition) that ascertain the qualities and faults of others are difficult to obtain, precisely because obtaining them is difficult. It is explained using words such as "individuals," meaning: those individuals who possess the characteristics of actions of body and speech that lead to right and wrong are those who lead to right and wrong. What arises from the mind are mental factors, namely qualities and faults. Mental qualities arising from the mind, such as compassion, detachment, realization, and other causes, are those that lead to right; mental faults arising from the mind, such as hatred and other causes, are those that lead to wrong, that is the meaning. Some opinions hold that through falsely showing thoughts that have preconceived notions, the actions of body and speech are not those that lead to right and wrong. That is also a thought. Moreover, the qualities and faults arising from the minds of others are beyond the senses, that is, far beyond the eye faculty and so on, therefore they cannot be completely determined by direct perception. Even if they can be inferred by inference, it is not through the sign of inherent nature, because inherent nature itself is what needs to be proven. However, it can be inferred by inference, that is, through the sign of the result that arises and is born from its own nature, namely the nature of qualities and faults, and which is present in the actions of body and speech. But that is also not the case, because the terminology of the characteristics of body and speech can mostly be altered through preconceived notions, that is, through thoughts of separate examination. For example, even someone with desire may show themselves as if they are without desire, and even someone without desire may show themselves as if they are with desire. Why? Because terminology itself is used according to the wishes of individuals. The phrase "for whom, it is used according to the wishes of individuals" should be connected. If it is said that it is used according to the wishes of individuals, then why make other changes? Because those

Moreover, those who cause people to use names, their thoughts are also various, because their desires are different. Therefore, in order to use names as one wishes, the names arising from merits and faults are not necessarily different. Therefore, the reason for saying "therefore" is that this person who can be inferred is an invalid argument, because the argument is wrong, so it cannot be determined that this person has eliminated all faults. Just as the arguer understands, it is not so, this sentence is the conclusion. Because it is not desired, it is not so, this shows that there is no reversal, etc., through these, the statement of wanting to eliminate all faults is accepted, and this is proved by showing the measure of existence, therefore, the initial position is put forward, that is, why, what, etc. Being without any fault is being without fault. If it is not that such a person exists? In order to show existence, therefore, decrease etc. are mentioned. When the opposing side appears, it will decrease, that is, there is no accumulation; when the opposing side does not appear, it will increase, that is, it shows approaching accumulation. Whether it is desire etc., they all rely on decrease and increase. All of these are related to the inconsistent side, because whatever appears or does not appear, relying on decrease and increase, that itself is the inconsistent side, that is, harmful. Because it is related to this, it is related to the inconsistent side, because it is that thing itself. This is the meaning of being related to the harmful. The harmful, through being related to the inconsistent side of faults, habitually, repeatedly, and continuously arises, and becomes its master, that is, desiring to be like that, and becoming its essence, therefore, becoming the essence of the harmful. In some continuums that have the essence of the opposing side of faults, afflictions, desire, etc. will be exhausted and decline. The harmful of all faults, that is, selflessness.
