Moreover, this has been pointed out by the immediately preceding statement of reversal. Therefore, it is not established to say that there exists the nature of being seen and not seen in one thing. This is merely the former view, but in order to explain other faults, it is presented from the perspective of the elephant. The so-called "becoming like that" means being logical. The so-called "in this" means being in accordance with reason and it. The object to be illuminated and the object that illuminates, which are in accordance with reason, have been fully explained by things such as lamps. Empty by its own nature, that is, the place that is separated from things such as lamps. The object to be illuminated and itself are pots and so on. Therefore, as explained by the reason stated above, it is not a universal illuminator. Why? Because it is reversed. Because even if other appearances are not grasped, one wants to grasp the universal first. Because they admit that appearance is grasped by grasping the universal. Therefore, even if the illuminator is not understood, it is because the object to be illuminated is grasped, so appearance is far beyond the nature of the illuminator. When mentioning "how is this itself," etc., the so-called "that" refers to appearance, and it should also be related to the universal illuminator. The so-called "through understanding it," that is, through understanding the universal way, appearance will appear, which is contradictory. If so, the so-called "admitting to seeing appearance through the power of seeing the universal," then appearance should also obtain the status of being illuminated through the universal way, which is deduced from the heart. The so-called "like a lamp and a vase," for example, just as a lamp illuminates a vase, appearance should also obtain the status of being illuminated through the universal, which is a summary statement. That is not understanding, that is, not understanding the universal, because appearance does not have the nature of appearance. It should also be further explained that if so, then it should also obtain the status of being illuminated, which also means that the universality of sound should also become the illuminator. Therefore, it should be considered that "like a lamp and a vase" is a cause similar to separation.
