Therefore, by preventing the cause of non-emptiness with a master, it is explained that sounds and other things are without a master, and the meaning of the term emptiness. Like this, whatever is possessed by one's own continuum is considered by others to have a master. If it is considered to be possessed in that way, even if it is ultimately not emptiness, it is still possessed by the one who acts as the possessor. The act of possessing itself is also the cause of being possessed, otherwise the act of possessing itself is unreasonable. Therefore, others consider the sound with a master to enter from the perspective of cause. For each momentary thing, relying only on the aggregate of destruction, there is no agent who exists by his own nature. Therefore, the formations that arise depending on what, selflessness and emptiness, are established by preventing the cause as mentioned above. Likewise, for others, it also refers to suffering, impurity, helplessness, lack of freedom, and so on. Appropriately means to negate some results and to negate some causes. Suffering and impurity are established by negating the result, because they establish results that are incompatible with happiness and purity, and all conditioned phenomena are in accordance with the nature of decay. Helplessness and lack of freedom are established by negating the cause, because there are no protectors or other things in one's own continuum. Therefore, in this way, cause and effect are shown to have four modes of operation by which sounds and other words operate from the perspective of establishment and negation. If there is no need to distinguish between non-emptiness and permanence, then do the words emptiness and so on not express other distinctions? How should it be expressed? Emptiness and so on are mentioned, and appropriate examination means that depending on whose tenets the examination is conducted, the non-emptiness is combined and arranged according to what kind of examination.

Thus, whatever is the wisdom that arises with the aspects of permanence, etc., that which is imputed to it, by thoroughly examining with aspects such as non-emptiness, it is severed, and the name of emptiness, etc., is established. Why? It is said "sound," etc., meaning that by the understanding of wisdom, one should impute to this meaning, thus thoroughly examining. The difference that is manifested in it, that is, where the meaning of the sound without confusion relies, is given that name. Because it is a real thing. To say everything in general means that in this place, for anyone who has become a real thing, there is also a non-conforming aspect. Thus, it is said that the self-characteristics of the real things of sounds are established, and negation is not. However, all the names of establishment and negation are only manifested by discriminating wisdom. Therefore, on impermanent sounds, etc., there is no permanence, etc., that can cut off the non-conforming aspects of impermanence, etc. It is said to be the fault of having no non-conforming aspects. The one who proclaims it is the one who can express it. The sound of the word "etc." means that when denying selflessness, it also says there is no denial, etc. The aspects of the manifestation of bad wisdom, etc., are between increase and irrelevance, etc. Those who have wisdom that follows reason should not say irrelevance, therefore, one should abandon the proclamation of those faults, and should not contemplate them. Such is the word. In those, the word "etc." can also be connected in a different order, meaning the cause of the general thing residing in one place. The many are the clear differences. Hearing is also, one is also, therefore it is hearing one. In this many meanings, there is one who can express it, therefore it is one who possesses hearing one, meaning if it can be expressed with one sound. Is there no slight difference in the many meanings of one sound of one result nature or one general sound? Thus it is contemplated. That which is different from those, etc., should be explained. That which is not its result nature is different from those.
